Spirit Airlines joins Regional Profile Airlines to add Macon in Georgia

Spirit Airlines will fly to Central Georgia Regional Airport (MCN) in Macon, Georgia, the first destination for its new partnership with regional operator Contour Airlines.
Spirit said Thursday that the airline will offer two flights twice a week between Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and MCN on Airbus A320 family planes that begin on Oct. 16. The entry ticket is $49.99 per way.
As part of the agreement, Contour will provide ground services to Spirit on MCN.

Contour has provided MCN twice a day from Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, DC, data from Cirium, Aviation Analytics.
MCN will become Georgia’s third city to join Atlanta and Savannah. The new MCN-FLL route is also the first partnership with Contour with Contour, which unveiled in May. Airlines touted the agreement as a way to extend air connectivity to “underserved communities nationwide.” Spirit will add flights to the U.S. Contour EAS market from “main leisure destinations”, and Contour will provide ground services and cross markets on new flights.

The collaboration is the first since Spirit went bankrupt in Chapter 11 in March. The airline cut debt and narrowed its fleet through its restructuring after the failed merger with JetBlue.
After the reorganization, Spirit is a significantly smaller airline. According to Cirium, the airline was nearly one-fifth less than last year in the first six months of 2025.
Cortour’s Cirium schedule for the United States includes MCN, 23 EAs and small communities including MCN. Others include Barkley Regional Airport (PAH) in Padica, Kentucky; Canyon Regional Airport (CNY) in Moab, Utah; and Shenandoah Valley Airport (SHD) in Wells Caves, Virginia (SHD).
However, Spiritual Statistics does not include any cooperation between airlines and the Spiritual Freedom Loyalty Program.
