This year, I set a goal to read more books, and reusing the Kindle is a great help. Not only do I appreciate the storage space, but the portable size is a truly great design feature for me. This is the ideal size for my wallet or backpack so I can take my adventures to long trips on the park or beyond. I think it’s easy to be one of the best igniters Amazon has ever released.
If you’ve ever been on a fence where you bought a Kindle, I think it’s worth buying for that reason alone. (You can also read Mashable’s full review of the 2024 Kindle if you need more persuasion.) I love the feeling of a physical book, but the design of the Kindle makes it an attractive option, which is about a lot if you’re not there. I found that I actually read it more often because I could take up a lot of space in my schoolbag without feeling like it took up a lot of space in my schoolbag.
Of course, that’s not the only reason I like the Kindle. As I mentioned before, it has 16GB of storage, so I can always stock exciting titles. Its glare-free display can also be read easily in any location, whether you are in the sun or not. It even has adjustable front lightweight and dark modes so you can read in darker positions without shining on your face with a bright screen.

If you’ve been hoping to jump to buying an e-reader and want something compact that’s easy to travel, the Kindle is the real deal. It’s also something that’s pretty often sold in big sales events, so if you want to get a discount, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year.
The best travel companion
The Kindle has a six-inch display, which totals about 6.2 inches. It also has an incredibly thin design – 0.32 inches deep – very lightweight. I have a situation that only adds a lot of things, but that’s not enough to notice the huge difference.

Another bonus to the Kindle is its battery life. This tiny but powerful e-reader can last for six weeks for a single charge, so you can think less about charging and instead focus on the books you are currently absorbing. If you quickly charge before leaving your home, you don’t have to worry about the battery relaxing too much during the holidays.
Amazon Kindle vs. Kindle Paperwhite
The biggest question about Kindles is whether the basic model is right for you. This is true for me, but I totally understand why some people want to upgrade. Amazon’s more expensive Kindle offers a larger, wider display with better battery life and water resistance (which may come in handy during these holidays).

If you really like reading in the pool, beach or bathtub, then the Kindle Paperwhite is the winner here. But that doesn’t matter to me. I’m all about portability. The regular Kindle is in and out at 5.56 ounces, while the paper white is a relatively large 7.23 ounces. It’s not a huge difference, but every little thing helps.
