How to Clean a Mattress (2025)

Note: Beware of oversaturated mattresses. Leaving liquid in the mattress can cause mold and mold.
“Whenever you get the mattress wet: vacuum, vacuum cleaner, and then do it twice when you think you’re using a small sub-point zero machine to vacuum and extract the mattress,” Pleshek said. “Always put a fan on it and get good airflow in the room.”
Plan 2: Your period arrives early
It seems you have a crime scene on your hand: the crime is mattress chaos. Blood is a pain when removing them from any fabric and the mattress is not exempt. Periods are not the only situation where blood can appear mysteriously. Healing cutting, knotting and nosebleed are also common. According to Pleshek, miracle cleaning is a bleeding condition, it is hydrogen peroxide.
Pleshek’s cleaning process is: “Catch a brown bottle, grab a basic spray bottle, and atomize the area where the blood is. Let it sit.” Its reaction is similar to a middle school science experiment, but that’s fine. Depending on the size and severity of the stain, separate it from 15 to 30 minutes. “It’s a little cool and interesting to clean the blood with hydrogen peroxide, you see the bubbles of it and it disappears very quickly,” Pleshek added. “Seep in the wet towel and get a little dirty to remove the stain.”
Plan 3: “Mom, I vomited”
Time is the essence here again. “The vomit is extremely acidic,” Pleshek said. It can make bile more acidic than typical acidic depending on the food or medicine consumed. You need to act quickly to address stains and odors. If any vomit goes into the mattress itself, remove any residual solids from the surface – you might want to wear gloves.
Enzyme cleaners are once again your first choice. However, removing excess vomit is a crucial step – you can’t spray it on the mess like you did before and hopefully the best. According to Pleshek, enzyme cleaners will not be able to do things effectively without first deleting all the excess enzymes.
Solution 4: Food Stains
I don’t think you’re sprinkling peppers like Kevin in that scene like Kevin officebut I won’t torture any possibility. First, Pleshek said to grab a spray bottle, a tablespoon of dish soap and warm water. From there, “gently stir it with a toothbrush or soft material to hang the soil.” Follow a dot machine.
If something can stick with it even after that, it’s time to bring our friend hydrogen peroxide back. “mist [the stain] With hydrogen peroxide, let it sit. “Hydrogen peroxide should be able to pull out the color,” Pleshek said.
Save the day, mattress and sane
This is one of my non-merchandise and it is backed by Pleshek: Get a waterproof mattress or packaging. It may save you big trouble. These cleaning tips hopefully prove helpful. But, from experience, you might be amazed when you only need to use one of them as fail-safe rather than the bed itself, not the bed itself.
