Pet parents should consider using a live camera to purchase a robot vacuum

When people consider the best robot vacuum cleaners for pet owners, they are mostly on pet hair (i.e., performance on carpets, perhaps self-vacancies for allergies). However, there is another feature emerging for more robot vacuum cleaners, which is a game-changer for pet parents, but it has nothing to do with suction power. It’s the ability to remotely check homes with a live camera in front of a robot vacuum, and it has become one of my favorite features of all robot vacuums I’ve tested.

This does illustrate the middle of the Venn diagram between the clean freak pet parents and the anxious pet parents – I can only think of this as a fairly large overlap of the population. If your helicopter pet parent feels starting to sting in the second second, a robot vacuum like this may be more comfortable than a stick vacuum. When a person leaves the home, the brain behind the cordless vacuum leaves, but not the case with the robot vacuum. The person with a camera can show you a live POV of everything you see when a robot vacuums the house, providing a more outpatient way to retain the travel range of the house compared to a fixed pet camera.

Many robot vacuum cameras also have the option of remote control to view, where users can use the arrows on the screen to point or drive the vacuum to drive in a certain direction. With the Roborock Saros Z70, you can even manually manipulate its robotic arms to grab obstacles like a claw machine, although this is too precise to be practical. However, being able to guide the robot vacuum cleaner by hand while recording may come in handy to slowly approach the pet that is frightened by the spinning machine.
Even though I was surveillance on cats almost every time I was away, they never did anything super fun. Sometimes I would grab them and walk around (and then walk into the vacuum like “Mom, you’re as smooth” vacuum, but they are usually on furniture that can’t be clocked. However, if your animal is a well-known bed resident, roaming the floor-level camera may provide some relief to the speed of your pet’s whereabouts.

On the side of the pet, you can also check with real people from the camera of the robot Vac. Most robot vacuum cameras have built-in video calling capabilities that support two-way audio, so you can call anyone not at home: house nanny, kids, dog walkers from Rover. The person on the other end of the line doesn’t have to “pick up” – the call starts automatically. When my roommate missed the phone, I successfully called her with it because it kept silent.

My favorite live video cameras in flagship Roborock vacuum cleaners like the Roborock Saros 10 and Saros 10r. The view is the least grainy I’ve tried, and the “Finding Pet” feature is simply fun. For pet parents who don’t have time to see vacuum cleaners, I can see it come in handy.

However, on-board cameras are no longer entirely limited to super-quality robotic VACs over $1,000. I tested the 3i G10+ budget robot vacuum cleaner and surprised me, especially with its affordable little obstacles to avoiding and remote viewing capabilities.
Can you use a robot vacuum camera for practical security purposes?
I am the head of horror movies and found that the lens is my favorite subgenre. You can imagine what I came up with is a low-budget, very 2020s paranormal phenomenon, where robot vacuum cameras see all kinds of household items moving late at night. Rotten tomatoes will get about 14% of the rate.
However, the movie doesn’t work well as a machete. Like camouflage and genius, the robot vacuum camera doesn’t actually sneakily catch someone in the ACT’s excellent job – every time you turn on live view mode, the vacuum announces “remote view activation” and also when you turn off live viewing. Yes, the notification will be played loudly even if you have turned off the vacuum’s smart assistant or dock.

This also means that the camera does not keep recording every time you go out, or watch from the outside 24/7 when charging. All the robot vacuums I’ve tested with cameras also require PIN code or drawing to something without a path, in which pattern you can connect points in some pattern. I have a few friends asking a random person if you can monitor your phone for stolen through your robot vacuum, but like unlocking a phone or smart doorbell, they also have to know the password. (This may be specific to a robot vacuum application and is automatically the same as the one used by the phone alone.)
