Member Rewards Points are usually transferred to Hilton at a 1:2 ratio. Several TPG staff were awarded a 30% transfer bonus, meaning 1,000 American Express membership bonus points will turn into 2,600 Hilton points. Another TPG employee targeted only 25% of the transfer bonus, which means 1,000 American Express membership bonus points equal to 2,500 Hilton Honors points. Hilton uses dynamic pricing, so the number of points required to book a reward may vary by timing, seasonality, and other factors.

Chase the Ultimate Reward Transfer Bonus

Chase will currently offer a 50% bonus when you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy by August 15.

Since the TPG value is valued at 0.7 cents and the chase points of 2.05 cents per point based on our August 2025 valuation is 2.05 cents per point, we generally do not recommend transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy as you are likely to lose value. However, if you need to follow your account or find a very good redemption rate, it may make sense to transfer your point of view. As always, it is best to correct the numbers and find usability before transferring your points.

Remember that transfer is irreversible.

Should you transfer points and miles?

We recommend transfer points or mileage only if you have a short-term plan to use them. Many plans have implemented devaluation over the past few years, so speculative transfers may prove a failed claim. Transfers are irreversible and you don’t want to be trapped in thousands of points or miles in a program that you barely useless.

If you don’t have a specific redemption but still want to earn points or miles, you may receive rewards with card welcome bonuses and daily expenses.

We always recommend that you ensure reward availability before transferring rewards.

Bottom line

When a program with transferable currency provides transfer bonuses, it is important to run the numbers to determine if they are worth it.

Often, you don’t want to transfer your points or miles without a specific redemption. After all, a large portion of transferable points and miles comes from their flexibility, and you will give up when you convert them into a partner’s currency. However, if you frequently use a partner program or plan to redeemed as soon as possible, transferring bonuses can help you get more value from points and miles.
