Leaks may have revealed iPhone 17 lineup release date

According to leaked documents, Apple may release its iPhone 17 lineup (including the iPhone 17, 17 Air and 17 Pro) on September 9.

Rumors originated from iPhone Ticker, a German blog and 9to5macthe report said local wireless carriers leaked internal documents pointed to early September.

Apple’s iPhone 17 could be priced at $50

Although still unproven, the date is tracked against Apple’s usual script. The tech giant usually holds iPhone launches in the second week of September, excluding 2020, which has been disrupted by Covid. The company also favored Tuesday’s announcement, although last year’s announcement was pushed due to the presidential debate.

Mixable light speed

If the leak is established, we may be just weeks away from Apple’s next big drop.

This year, people’s spotlight is on the iPhone 17 Air, with Apple’s rumored ultra-thin flagship store measuring just 5.65mm. As Mashable’s Alex Perry said, “Thinner than a pencil.”

Meanwhile, if you’ve been following Apple leaks, most of the details of the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are already in the wild. One of the most eye-catching leaks is the new orange finish of the Pro model, which for some (mainly me), is similar to the Charlotte Bobcat color scheme.

Beyond that, 9to5MAC notes that if there is a rumored September 9 reveal date, Apple may stick to its usual launch model – aware that bookings may open on Friday, September 12, and a week later, on September 19, the official launch will land.
