3 Best Steam Mops After Months of Testing (2025)

This all-in-one cleaner from Tineco has a lot of bells and whistles. It’s easy to set up and easy to use, although I had to read the instructions a few times to make sure I understand all the different modes and options. Press the power button and it will start in automatic mode, which detects how dirty the floor is and automatically adjusts the steam output as needed. Use steam mode to deep clean and improve stubborn spots and stain patterns. With the Companion smartphone app that requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you can also put the mop into suction-only mode for dry vacuum – which is handy when you accidentally pack half a bag onto the floor. The companion app also lets you know the status of the MOP charge and helps you resolve any errors. If the feature is needed for some reason, it will also track how often you clean it.
The mop has two tanks – one for dirty water and one for cleaning – you can fill it with water or Tineco’s cleaning solution. (I haven’t tried this solution, but the manufacturer recommends using its products, not from other companies.) It makes my floor dry than any other mop I’ve tried so far. Once the cleaning is done, you can return it to the included charging dock to get the battery top and enter self-cleaning mode. This pattern is big and takes a few minutes, but it washes and drys the brush rolls and moves everything into a dirty water tank. Rinse the dry filter, rinse the clean water tank and your mop will glitter. There is even storage space for drying filters and brushing on the charging dock.
In addition to various modes, this steam mop has neat ring lights around its display, ranging from red (dirty) to purple and finally blue (clean when you’re on the floor). Combined with the built-in light on the mop head, this helps ensure you never miss any location. The mop is also on its own, which is a blessing and curse, as the machine is on the heavier side, and I find it easiest to turn it off by pressing a button instead of trying to stand up completely upright. If you are tall or stronger, this may not be a problem. I also wish the battery would charge faster – it would take four to five hours and the battery could die quickly, depending on the maximum mode you use and the size of the cleaning area. I also hope the battery is replaceable. Similar to the shark model recommended above, this Tineco doesn’t have excellent edge support – you may have to do some manual cleaning around the corners and around the skirting line.
Finally, the sound of this mop will proudly announce the cleaning mode you are using, the need to clean the tank and more. If you annoy you, you can turn off this voice feature. I like to turn it on, but sometimes it tells me something during the cleaning process and I can’t understand the noise of the machine itself. That’s not a damage, it’s just a quirk. If you’re looking for a steam mop, even the worst mess, this is what you want.
