American Airlines AADVANTAGH
Citi recently added the Aadvantage program as a transfer partner for Citi Thempyou, which is an amazing development. The Aadvantage program has an excellent collaborative scholarship form and offers several sweet spots for points and mileage enthusiasts.

If you are a cardholder of a featured Citi Card, you can transfer Citi Thank You Points at a 1:1 ratio. One of the best ways to redeem Aadvantage miles is to fly between JALs on the JAL, only 60,000 miles in Business Class one way, or 80,000 miles in First Class one way.
Compared to other programs, JAL has deployed several new Airbus A350 aircraft on U.S. routes, which could be a great way to have a great business or a top-notch product, and is relatively cheap compared to other programs.

Book flights to Europe in France-klm in blue
France-KLM Flying Blue is a popular program that has become more profitable over the years. In 2023, the program standardizes the exchange of savings measures in Europe and adds stopovers to reward tickets. This is one of Citi’s top airline transfer partners.

In January 2025, the program slightly raised the savings-grade reward prices – but availability has also increased, which is good news for any avid traveler. Saver-class business class seats start at 60,000 miles one-way, while Flying Blue offers a free stopover plan so you can explore two places at one price.
While the program does use dynamic reward pricing when pricing without savings level and adds fuel surcharges for reward flights (which may be high on some routes), you can still encounter a lot of deals. We recommend you check out Flying Blue’s monthly promotional rewards to lock in lower reward flight prices.

Fly from the United States to Italy or Greece on Emirates
Amirates Skywards is the most straightforward way to book business-grade or first-class reward tickets on a popular and affluent carrier. An interesting and unique way for flight operators is through their fifth path between the United States and Europe.

For example, you can fly between John Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Milan Malpsa Airport (MXP) or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Athens International Airport (ATH). You can fly from JFX to MXP at the following rates:
- Economy Saving: 17,500 miles
- Avoid Business: 87,000 miles
- First elastic plus: 102,000 miles
You can also fly 52,500 miles between Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport (BOG) and Miami International Airport (MIA) on Emirates’ latest fifth route.
Please note that to exchange for the Emirates first-class mileage, you must be Sky Platinum, Gold or Silver Status. However, TPG does have convenient hacks on how to book premium seats on the airline without status.
Due to the 5:4 transfer ratio, booking these tickets will cost more Citi points, but the uninterrupted economic seat reservations to Milan are still a real OK

Qatar Airways Privileges Club
Qatar Airways Privileges Club isn’t the most popular plan, but it’s the best way to book a coveted QSuite commercial-grade product. Privileged Club has more room to release its own plans than the Cooperation Loyalty Program, plus the US to the Middle East’s redemption rate is not bad, starting at 70,000 Avios, Nonpeak Travel.

Thankfully, since the program uses Avios as its loyalty currency, you can combine Avios into other programs that use the same currency, including the British Airways Club, Iberia Club, Finnair Plus, Loganair Pluntenty and Aer Lingus Aerclub.

Singapore Airlines Kleisley
Singapore Airlines Krisflyer is the best way to book Singapore Airlines first-class. If you’re flying on the airline’s Airbus A380, you’ll get snacks as top-notch suites offer maximum privacy – if booking two seats you can combine them to give you and your travel partner more space.

At the Saver level, you can fly to just 45,000 miles in top-notch suites to Hong Kong or up to 141,000 miles on a flight to London. Most importantly, the Krisflyer program allows you to wait for a list without a reward.
If the premium cabin price looks high and you are looking for a deal, the monthly Krisflyer spontaneous escape program offers value.
Turkish Airlines’ Mileage and Smile
The Turkish Miles & Smiles program has been a favorite for reward travelers for years; however, the program lost its appeal due to the significant depreciation last year. However, the program still has some value, especially if you want to book a domestic flight with United Airlines via Türkiye Miles & Smiles.

For example, you can book a one-way domestic ticket on United Airlines in the United States, including Hawaii, for economical ways as low as 10,000 miles.
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
The Virgin Atlantic Flight Club has been a favorite for reward travelers, and although the program has turned to dynamic pricing of flights running on the Atlantic Ocean, there are more opportunities to fly at cheap upper class between the United States and London.
For example, you can fly from the East Coast to the Business Class on the Virgin Atlantic Ocean in London with less than 30,000 miles from the West Coast.

What is your point of view, thank you?
According to TPG’s August 2025 valuation, Citigroup points are worth 1.9 cents. Transferring your points to an airline or hotel partner will bring you the best value and have the opportunity to maximize the value of Citi Points, well over 1.9 cents.
You can book a trip through Citi’s own travel portal – but at most you can earn only 1 cent per point, so it’s not the best choice to maximize your points. There are other ways to redeem points, such as buying gift cards, returning shopping with points and cash back; however, these won’t get you the best value, and we recommend you avoid them if you want to maximize your perspective.

TPG Credit Card Writer Danyal Ahmed is a Citi Layer Premier® Card (See Rates and Fees) Cardholders and several transfer partners who like to leverage Citi to maximize his views.
Danyal, for example, recently redeemed 70,000 Citi thank-you points to book a one-way flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) on Katar Airways. Since the cash fare is nearly $9,200, it is worth 13.1 cents per point.

How to win Citi’s thank you points?
You can earn transferable Citi Thank You points with some Citi credit cards, including:

Remember that not all thank you points have the same value. To transfer the Citi Thank You Point to most of the partners described in this guide, you must hold a premium Citi Thank You Card such as the Citi Class Elite, the Citi Prestige® Card (no longer available for applications), or the Citi Level Prime Minister. For example, to transfer points to AADVANTAGH, you must hold any of these three cards
If you have a Citi-class card, Citi double cash card (See rates and fees) or Citi Custom Cash® You can transfer cards to most partners, but the transfer ratio is much lower
But, if you also Keep the premium Citi cards, you can combine thank you points and then transfer to your partner at a 1:1 ratio.
Information on Citi Custom Cash and Citi reputation cards has been independently collected by Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Bottom line
While there are a lot of transfer partners to use Citi Thank You Points with you, not all of them are useful or worth it. We recommend studying the destinations you want to visit and what common flyer plans and hotels you can use. Based on this, you have to determine which loyalty program you want to use, as some can be complicated.
Overall, it takes some effort and time to maximize your hard-earned points and make the most of the transfer points.
