How “Bob’s Sports” turned into golf fooled the YouTube Empire

That’s it, I found myself thinking: I want those YouTubers’ lives.

Look, I was a millennial who grew up in the early stages of the internet – the iPhone was still a novelty in high school – and sometimes I feel the generational gap spans Generation Z and is even more extreme. Our digital world is just Different, Of course.

Polls show that young people want to be influencers, a job that doesn’t exist in my life. Actually, it was an urge I didn’t fully understand until I stumbled upon the channel of Bob’s movement. I understand now. Because, as a man in his 30s, I can say for sure that there is no slight shame, I want those YouTubers’ lives.

If I could sum up the role of the channel in a concise way, I would choose something like this: Here are three guys (with some producers) playing golf, wandering around, playing golf, playing golf and messing around, traveling a lot of food around the world, did I mention chaos and playing golf? Quoting the words of our time: My dream date, cute.

Along the way, this has become a lucrative career – over 1 million YouTube subscribers, major sponsors, gathering groups with famous athletes and life as an associate society celebrity, mostly guys in my crowd.

Bob, who was the same name behind the sports channel, told Mashable in an interview with Zoom, saying, “We never want to lose that crazy feeling.” “Because, to this day, it’s hard to get around our heads – see [the channel] Grow and see it get bigger, go to the golf course and see how many fans come [to us]. ”

Robby – aka Bob, aka Bobby Fairways, aka the d Man or da – is the band leader of the main trio, surrounded by Joseph DeMare (Joseph Demare) (aka Joey Coldcuts), aka Cutsy, aka D Man or da (do not ask) – and Nick stubbe, nick stubbe, aka fat Pererez, aka Fat Perez, fp fp. But the Real BDS head also knows and loves the producers Jets, Big Tickets and J Bone. It’s a carnival for the characters and the video does a great job of highlighting their quirks. Watching the video is like a silent participant in a partner trip – laughing at a man in his 30s with golf inside. Often, every video has a team playing golf in some kind of challenge. It could be a score, a win or a wasteful showdown, food to eat, lots of drinks or a combination of these goals. Golf is important – you take root for these guys – but it’s more about the band’s comedy.

It might feel like a partner journey, because everyone involved is – or indeed a normal person. Berger and Demare worked for four seasons in Beverly Hills a few years ago. Stubbe is a table jockey who performs in an accountant. Now, even if you are not a golf fan, you can recognize Berger from his funny Tiktok account. He’s been trying to be a creator for a while, but that’s playing golf with the cold and later FP, which really makes things soar.

So, where are they now?

  • There is a channel with 1.1 million subscribers.

  • Sponsorship agreement with Callaway, one of the most well-known golf.

  • Their own alcoholic beverage system (one day) and clothing line (breeze).

  • With videos from some of the renowned people in sports, including Josh Allen, Jon Ram, some Yankees, etc.

  • Together with Barstool, lead the upcoming Internet Invitational, a newly created YouTube golf tournament with a prize of $1 million.

A few years ago, Berger was a part-time comedian who would play sports events to ridicule professionals (playful). Now, Golf Magazine writes about his every move.

“It feels like these little moments,” Perez told Mashable. “It’s like step by step, like: That’s wild,,,,, That’s wild,,,,, This is crazy, how do we here? ”

They all talked about going through moments like this, but maybe it was just a match against the popular Pro Max Homa. The video has received over 3 million views, which is an amazing, fun and suspenseful golf game. This also shows that the golf world regards BDS as legitimate.

Mashable Trend Report

The rising trend lifts all the boats, not like the BDS crew is the increasingly popular YouTube golf creator. For example, frequent collaborators such as Grant Horvat and Bryan Bros are very popular. Overall, YouTube Golf itself has become a genre – it’s the growth of golf’s popularity online and others – and has led to creators being invited to PGA Tour and Liv Golf Gold events.

Online, golf is for everyone

However, the difference between BD is that they are really fun to play the best sports known to humans. Horvat is probably the “Golden Boy” of YouTube Golf – who seems to attract the biggest crowd from young golfers – but he simply can’t smash the whole big pizza while playing like a BDS. No one else in golf cites deep internet knowledge. In hot weather, golf doesn’t enthusiastically debate the advantages of chili peppers. There is nothing in the world that makes me laugh so hard, and he melts some famous people as he sees in everyone else.

“If Bob goes his own way, I’ll be a sequel to Truman Show…he’s always staring at me. I think I’ll live in the simulation.”

– Joseph Demare

In some ways, that’s the magic of the group. Between their videos, social images, podcasts, etc., you start to feel like You know These guys. You’re hanging out with them. All of these are unique, and perhaps most importantly.

“If Bob had his way, I would be Truman performance“The prank tells Mashable.” He would only stare at me all the time. I think I’m just living in simulation. ”

So when they are out in public, people playfully give them shit because they feel like old friends. This is an interesting phenomenon. Even though you know, people love to struggle with the challenge of struggling, even though you know Fatty is named after his name.

“In the golf course or airport, [I’ll get]“You have to strengthen the game with donuts,” FP said with a smile.

Bob, poor Bob, has a lot of shit, even unsolicited advice about his golf game. FP is a really good golfer who can bounce out of the ball and is progressing, and Bob…Bob sometimes fights the demons there. So yes, as every golfer knows, other golfers can’t help themselves, but step in and share their skills.

“My mistake is that I will listen to everything. I will do everything.”

But, talk to these guys and you will feel them Learn how lucky they are to do what they do. For the handsome guys of our time, the annual trip of a golf partner is an amazing luxury. They do it for a living. This is a career path that didn’t exist five years ago, let alone the things they dreamed of when they were kids.

“I’m pretty sure my grandparents don’t know what I’m doing,” FP said. “We’re going to have 2 million views of the video. And then I do it, like, Virginia Golfer Magazinesome free magazines, like, “Oh, look! You did! I thought, “Grandma, you have to read here, like turning on the computer. ”

Why “College Football” 25′ means a lot to the suffering fans

To see such a rapid popularity and to see their lives completely change – it makes sense for the three to say they expect to continue doing more. They stress that as they grow, they know that the funny golf videos are bread and butter. But that doesn’t mean they don’t consider strengthening it. The late nights at Airbnbs usually end with producers coming up with increasingly eccentric ideas.

“The jet wants to do a food and drinking challenge, together for 18 holes,” Ice pole said. “Like, ‘Yes, we’ll be elastic and airlifted to the emergency room.”

There is also a jet-like idea to have a Thanksgiving meal on a golf cart… in nine holes.

A nine-hole turkeylike, what is the title? FP joked. “It feels like that guy just wants to see us suffer sometimes, you know, I don’t blame him.” ”

So yes, things can make the channel weird, but don’t expect the formula to change. Berger said what they did opened unimaginable doors. They will keep moving forward and see the slideshow open up next.

“Now, we really don’t want to change anything,” Berger said. “Because we have a lot of fun and we are able to do business from it.”
