Seth Meyers’ reaction to Trump’s refusal to respect “wake up” artists

Seth Meyers has announced that Donald Trump has announced that he will host this year’s Kennedy Center honors, but on Thursday he targeted a specific section: Trump claimed he filtered out some artists by “too awake.”
“I would say I’m about 98% of the involvement,” Trump said in a press conference. “I turned down a lot: they’re so awake. I have a few Vaux.”
“Sorry, did he say ‘Wokesters’? Waxter sounds like the car your great-grandfather drove after the war.”I have a 1939 Wokester and I have been driving to the state fair where I sold funnel cakes. Oh, I miss my WaxsterMeyers said in the clip above and then shifted his attention to right-wing commentators who like to complain about free speech censorship.
“Screaming to the freedom fighters and the president just fully admits that he is punishing artists for their politics,” Meyers said.
