Labor Day weekends often mark the peak of summer in Charleston, but we encounter unexpected and glorious probation, a few days of cool, wet-free mornings and evenings. It felt like the hint of autumn, and the timing couldn’t be better. The last quarter of the year always seems to move the fastest, especially with the pace of work during the fall and holidays. We collaborated three times before the end of this year and a lot happened behind the scenes. This is the fact that this month is moving forward…
What are we doing
- This month we have planned several trips, including work and celebrations. A quick weekend getaway with a friend’s birthday followed by a work trip to Connecticut and New York. It was a busy but energetic few weeks.
- In New York, we stayed at the Fifth Avenue Hotel for the first time. The room looked beautiful and I was curious about its life. I will report.
- Later this month, we will be heading to Chicago to meet Summer and her team to finalize the kitchen design and plans for the closet/dressing room. I’m counting down the days.
- We will be shooting kitchen and bar tours this week, specifically for Transaction discounts. If you haven’t subscribed yet, there’s a lot of great video content out there right now.
- One of our collaborations is launching mid-month, and this is our second collaboration with the brand. Curious if you can guess who it is? These pieces are beautiful and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Things I’m paying attention to
- I’ve been caring about jewelry. This is one of my biggest loves. Now, I’m pinned to Lucy Delius. Here’s what’s on my wishlist: this ruby pendant, these horse rup earrings and these ruby ear sleeves.
- I like Mara Aaron, too. Her website is a gold mine for discovering beautiful works and she is happy to follow on Instagram. I really like her colorful inlay works. Here’s what’s on my wishlist: this inlay ring, this inlay chain necklace and inlay cuffs.
- New mixed bouquet work by Mary Nelson Sinclair.
- The Loewe X Albers series is slowly dripping. I’ve fixed it since the series showed last year. Several pieces I like include this puzzle bag, this silk mix top and leather clutch.
- The two dresses I’m focusing on are fall/winter events, this is this spectacular Roksanda dress and this feather trail dress.
- I currently want to upgrade our coffee maker to this beautiful silver color.
