Alaska Airlines offers fast, free Starlink Wi-Fi services to the entire fleet
Alaska Airlines is jumping in the fast, free in-flight Wi-Fi trend.
Seattle-based airline announced Wednesday that it will equip all its aircraft with Starlink connections – a service that will be available for free at Atmos Rewards, a new joint loyalty program that Alaska has just unveiled with sister airline Hawaiian Airlines.
The Wi-Fi upgrade in Alaska comes after the Hawaiians acquired by Alaska Air Group last year, which has installed Starlink on many of its aircraft. (In fact, the Hawaiians were the first American airline to equip planes with star-stripe connectivity.)
Now, Alaska-branded jets will also receive Starlink service.

Alaska plans to start installing Starlink satellites on aircraft in December this year and hopes to equip its entire fleet by early 2027.
These include the brand new Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 787, which has not yet been star-striped connectivity, and will now repaint the Alaska brand early next year.

The Starlink Wi-Fi announcement in Alaska is a flyer that is loyal to when airlines are increasingly upgrading their in-flight Internet products and making them available to customers for free.
Delta Airlines, United Airlines and JetBlue (along with the Hawaiians) have all been done or have started moving to free on-board browsing. American Airlines plans to provide free Wi-Fi to Aadvantage loyalty members early next year.
Southwest Airlines has been testing whether its on-board bandwidth is enough to switch to the free settings for quick reward members.
Alaska plans to add Starlink services to its Boeing 737 and 737 Max Planes (more than 230 in its fleet), as well as its regional jets flying by Horizon Air and Skywest.
As for the Hawaiians, the airline has equipped Airbus A330 and A321NEO aircraft with Starlink. However, TPG has confirmed that the airline’s Boeing 717s (its fixed device for its short-to-island flight network) will not be able to access new high-speed Wi-Fi services.
