How do I plan to redeem over 800,000 Bonvoy points

I broke the main domination of points and the Mile World: I ho accumulated points. I’ve accumulated 800,000,000,000,000,000,000 points over the past three years and I’m thinking about how to deal with them.

I initially planned to redeem luxury hotel accommodation or transfer it to Marriott’s airline partners, which is not what I intend to ardelize my Bonwart points. However, due to the depreciation in the Bonvoy program and just finding other travel deals, I never fulfilled any of my views.

Although I have accumulated nearly a million points, not all scores and mileage are the same. According to TPG’s August 2025 valuation, the Marriott Point is worth 0.7 cents, which means my 807,500 Bonvoy points are worth $5,653.

My Marriott Points used to be worth more, but they have lost value as hotel plans depreciated. So now is the time to redeem my Bonvoy point and try to maximize its value.

I plan to redeem 800,000 Bonvoy points.

The best way to redeem Marriott Hotels

Despite so many Marriott Bovo points, I didn’t find it necessary to have a common brand credit card. Instead, I earned Marriott points through paid accommodation and occasional bonus points promotions.

There are a number of ways you can earn Marriott points. The easiest way to do this is to attribute your Marriott reservation to your Bonvoy account; another option is to apply for a common brand of Bonvoy card and earn a welcome bonus while you can also earn points when you spend on the card. For example, now Marriott Hotel Spend $6,000 in the first six months of card membership and earn 185,000 bonus points. The offer ends on September 24.

There are several ways to redeem Marriott hotels, including:

  • Reward Night
  • Marriott Bonvoy Moment
  • Room points, merchandise and gift cards
  • Travel Redemption and Airline Transfer

For me, the two types of redemption of these two redemptions are to redeem my opinion as a reward night and transfer it to the airline. Marriott Hotel has 38 airline partners and you can transfer your Bonvoy points.

I will focus on both redemptions because I know I can get the most value of my point of view. In many cases, redemption points for hotel accommodation are useful. One scenario is that if the cash price of the hotel is high per night, I can rely on my point of view – and because I have a lot, most redemptions are achievable. On the other hand, I do prefer to book reward tickets for premium cabin flights with my points.

Although most of the airline partners who have a 3:1 transfer rate from Marriott, it seems like I’m losing value, I personally feel that booking a business or a top-notch air ticket can make better use of my point of view. Premium cabin tickets tend to cost more than average hotels, at least my 807,000 Bonvoy points are worth at least 269,000 miles with most airline partners.

For example, one-way business-grade tickets from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Zurich Airport (ZRH) are $6,000, or 70,000 Aeroplan points if paid in cash. Such a redemption gives me 8.57 cents a point, which is far more than the value of Marriott and Aeroplan points, according to TPG’s August 2025 valuation.

Bonvoy Moint redeemed hotel accommodation

The most straightforward way to redeem Bonvoy points is to book award nights in the Marriott portfolio property. Whether it’s an unexpected trip, a hotel reservation or an ideal trip to a distant destination, Bonvoy points can help reduce travel costs.

To search for hotel redemption, I simply go to the destination or property I am interested in, and the dates I like can see how many points Bonvoy plans to charge. Since Marriott prices are dynamic, be sure to play with the dates as you can get better redemptions this way.

Accommodation in FIFA World Cup 2026 Mexico City

I am a loyal football fan and participated in the last two FIFA World Cups: Russia in 2018 and Qatar in 2022. Accommodation at world events can be difficult to attend and expensive. However, having a certain amount of points in these types of cases may be a lifeline.

For example, the 10-night stay in the Mexican city of Le Meridien Meridien takes only 41,000 a night. However, thanks to the Bonvoy program’s “Stay 5 Pay for 4’PERK, I only need eight nights to pay, which means I spent a total of 328,000 Bonvoy points.

This is a great use of my opinion, as the average cost per night is $1200. I was able to redeem my points for 3.65 cents, exceeding TPG’s August 2025 valuation. Without my Bonvoy points, I wouldn’t be able to afford my stay in Mexico City and could experience the FIFA World Cup – which would cost me an amazing $12,000 if I did.

Redeeming my views for the FIFA World Cup has made me feel relieved and made my views hoarding help me ensure my stay for a lifetime.

Luxury Vacations in Maldives

If I want to use almost all the points, booking a once-in-a-lifetime trip is probably the best choice. This includes redemption for hotel reservations in Maldives, which often have coveted costs, from air tickets to private seaplane transfers to expensive food expenses.

Staying in Ritz-Carlton Maldives in the Fari Islands for five nights will cost me 780,000 points, so I almost exhausted all my Bonvoy points. Remember, I still have to pay for the hotel’s shipping fee, which is a speedboat transfer from Villana International Airport (MLE) to the property, and the price per person is about $1,100. So, despite savings over $11,000 in accommodation, there are other expenses related to this accommodation.

Overall, the cash price per night is $2,200, and my redemption is 1.41 cents per person, which is valuation of 0.7 cents over TPG in August 2025.

Transfer Marriott Hotels to Airline Partners

To find the availability of reward seats, I use seats. The seat is a great tool to find a seat in seconds and really helps to reduce the burden of searching for reward tickets for a single search.

Even if you don’t have many Bonvoy points for Marriott hotels, it may be a better choice to transfer your points to book your flight. Since redemption rates are dynamic, your Bonvoy point balance may not be enough to cover the free nights. If you have 20,000 Bonvoy points (or you think it’s not enough), these airlines are worth about 6,666 miles.

If you are short of miles, or if you can transfer fewer points from a credit card that can earn transferable points, the best way to use the common flyer accounts you need.

Week-long Hawaiian Family Tour

Marriott Bonvoy transfers it to airline partners for every 60,000 Bonvoy points, giving members a reward miles of 5,000 miles. However, MileagePlus members will earn 10,000 miles per 60,000 Bonvoy points thanks to the close partnership between Marriott Hotel and United Mileageplus.

United Airlines

For a family of four, a week-long flight ticket in Hawaii will cost 149,600 miles. To book these reward tickets, I needed to transfer 300,000 Bonvoy points to United Mileageplus, which gave me 100,000 miles. Then I got an extra bonus miles of 50,000 miles because I got 10,000 bonus miles per 60,000 Bonvoy points, bringing my total to 150,000 miles.

Remember, Marriott Hotels limits the number of miles you can transfer to your airline partners every day, so you may need to transfer them within two days. Make sure there are enough reward seats and try to put them on hold if the program allows the program to prevent you from losing them when making a transfer.

Finally, the price of the same cash ticket was $528 per person, but I had a net price of 0.70 cents per point due to transfer points and booking the redemption ticket. Although my August 2025 valuation of each TPG gets the same value per point, the savings may be more during peak trips. Finally, you can save your tickets over $2,000 to a hotel or accommodation like Airbnb.

Fly to London on Virgin Atlantic Upper Class

There is nothing like a view of redeeming high-value redemption like a business-grade ticket. Virgin Atlantic has excellent business-grade products, thanks to the dynamic pricing of the airline’s transfer to Virgin Atlantic Award Flights, and you can get some great deals on Premium Cabin Airfare.

Next flight from New York John Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Heathrow Airport (LHR). I can fly one way in Business Class on 29,000 Virgin Points and about $580 in taxes and fees. I only need to transfer 74,000 Bonvoy points to get 24,666 Virgin points – Additionally, I will get at least 60,000 Bonvoy points of 5,000, giving me a total of 29,666 points.

This is a great use for Marriott Bonvoy points as the cash price for the same ticket is $2,008 per person. This puts me at 1.93 cents per point, which is more than twice the value of the Marriott point in the TPG.

Bottom line

While this is not the best exercise to hoard returns, having over 800,000 Marriott points is also a revitalization. I think now is the perfect time to redeem them because I have enough points to cover most of my ideal redemption.

Although I rarely redeem points for accommodation, that’s probably why I do it: I have the opportunity to experience some amazing properties around the globe. Still, I should act as soon as possible, not later – because you never know when the next depreciation will be depreciated, and now it’s time for me to enjoy the hard-earned view.
