Call all illustrators! The Boooooom Illustration Award has returned and this year we are bigger than ever – requesting official opening! There are 5 award categories to submit: “Individual”, “Products and Packaging”, “Advertising & Promotion”, “Editorial”, “Student”. We have cash prizes that can be snapped up, good stuff from some friends (tablets, free websites, digital tools), elite panels of judges, editorial and social reports, and the opportunity to publish in special print publications.
Our inaugural awards have been a huge success (thank you all, see all the winners). We can’t wait to see what you’ve submitted this year! Thanks so much to our friends on the format for helping us achieve this again! With their ongoing support, we are able to build opportunities for our creative community and shed light on so many incredible talents.
Format is an online portfolio builder for illustrators, designers, artists and photographers. The platform streamlines the needs of professional creators and offers over 90 topics with a wide range of design variables. Their new Flex Block tool allows users to drag and drop images, videos, text, buttons, and more to create custom layouts. You can also sell your work committee for free through the format store. Everyone is welcome to submit an image to these awards for free. Members enjoy unlimited submissions and unlimited images in all award categories. If you want to submit multiple images or compete for multiple categories, consider becoming a member here!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for your job, not just any eye! We welcome the panel of judges for the first time: James Jean (artist), Akiko Stehrenberger (artist/art director), Phil Chang (founder of C47) and Evan Pricco (founder of Unibrow, founder of Unibrow, former editor-in-chief of Jugxapoz).
All 5 winners (and 20 finalist illustrators) will appear in our special awards print publications created specifically to showcase your work. This magazine won’t be sold; instead, we’ll send it directly to people we admire (editors, art directors, tastemakers, you get the idea). Winners and runners-up will receive copies separately and edit them on BOOOOOOM and get promotions on our social channels. We will also have a list of over 100 illustrators who will be promoted in our social channels.
For this year’s rewards, we’ve lined up with some great product sponsors.
