How many points on Earth can drive south, then go east for a mile, then north for a mile, and finally into the same place you started?

Hedge Fund Brain Teasing: Questions about Butchers

This is an interesting brain trailer for today. So the question is, how many points are there on Earth that you can go south for a mile, then east for a mile, then north for a mile, and finally into the same place you started? Is that true? I just want to repeat it briefly. How many points can you have on Earth that you can drive south for a mile, east for a mile, and north for a mile, and end up being the same as you started? Now, it’s interesting because I think most people start with the answer from the Arctic.

Because you can travel. . . Because once again, the earth is regarded as a realm. You can start from the Arctic, drive east for a mile, and walk. . . Sorry, go south a mile, then east a mile, then north a mile, then back to the North Pole, right? But there is another set of places to work. So first, imagine in the South Pole, or near the South Pole, where you can travel on Earth, just one mile away.

So you can start a mile north of that point. Then go south for a mile, east for a mile, then north for a mile, and above the same location you started. And the trick is that there are many things that can work.

This is not a limited place because remember that we are dealing with an area. This is a round. You can do this at any of these points a mile north of the circumference of the Earth.

Within that mile’s circumference, let’s go half a mile. So if you start one mile north of this you can drive south for a mile and walk around the earth twice, then go back to the north and bend at the same location, right? Again, the same thing is correct. Unlimited possibilities may occur.

Frankly speaking, any position within the radius of a mile around the earth can work. So the answer is indeed the Arctic and an infinite number of choices that will allow you to do so. Interesting question, isn’t it? So hope you enjoyed this and I will come back for more.

Have a nice day. careful
