Dallas gets a new long-distance flight, this time to Jordan

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is about to land on another new Oneworld Alliance airline.

Royal Jordanians announced on Wednesday that they will continue to serve from DFW to Ariya International Airport (AMM) in Amman, Jordan starting from May 10, 2026. This marks the first time that Texas travelers are able to fly to Jordan continuously, which will also be the longest route for Royal Jordan.

According to Cirium Timetables, the new service surpasses the longest route in Royal Jordan at 7,036 miles, which is 6,236 miles from Chicago.

Bargain: When is the best time to book the cheapest flights?

Jordanian Flag Carrier will operate the route four times a week throughout the year. The flight will be operated by the 270-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which has 24 commercial-grade seats and 246 economic seats. Note that the business-grade pods are arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration, which makes this one of the less attractive transatlantic configurations at present.

Eastbound Flights will leave DFW at 10:55 pm and land at 8 pm the next day, and the Westbound Service will also run as a day flight, leaving AMM at 10:40 AM and landing at DFW at 5:05 PM

The scheduled flights can optimize the connection between Amman and more than 50 destinations in the Middle East and beyond.

It is worth noting that this new route will commemorate the fifth American portal of Royal Jordan, second only to Chicago, Detroit, New York and recently launched Washington, D.C., the route.

DFW is the largest hub for American Airlines and has been working to develop its long-distance portfolio in recent years, especially in OneWorld Alliance Airlines, which can strengthen its presence in domestic networks with the U.S.

Earlier this year, Cathay Pacific launched flights to DFW, joining other recent routes to DFW in recent years at Fiji Airlines, Qantas and others.

“Welcoming Royal Jordan to DFW is another exciting step in growing our global network,” DFW CEO Chris McLaughlin said in a statement. “This new uninterrupted connection with Amman is the first North Texas connection to expand our coverage to the Middle East and further develop the role of DFW as an international key portal.”

No Saver reward flights are available a few hours after the airline announced the route, but this could change as the airline proposes more discounted fares and optimizes revenue management algorithms for its new routes – especially for economic redemption.
