Donald Wasswa’s exquisite wood creature emerges from speculative future – Huge

Donald Wasswa uses silk trees, ebony and embedded copper details to imaginate the imagined creatures. Headquartered in Kampala, Uganda, Wasswa explores the relationship between science, technology, society and environmental transformation. His sculptures loosely resemble jellyfish of tentacles, but somewhat dark and sharp, evoking a unique tension between familiarity and unknown. Knowledge biology and science fiction.
