Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Cards stand out in the Premium Rewards Credit Card Market, offering legacy cards like this American Express Platinum Card® and Chase SapphireReserve® (See rates and fees) A sum of money.
While the Venture X’s $395 annual fee still needs to be considered, it’s much lower than what One Capital’s competitors charge. Not only is the card’s privileges competitive, but many even extend to authorized users – cardholders can add up to four authorized users at no additional cost. (However, there are some changes in February, as described below.)
Let’s review all the benefits other users of Venture X cards can enjoy. In particular, we will focus on the growing number of lounges that you and your travel companion can visit together.
Venture X Overview
Before we dig, let’s review the details of Venture X.
For an annual fee of $395, Venture X cardholders receive:
- Welcome bonus: Spend $4,000 in the first three months of opening an account and earned 75,000 bonus capital a mile. According to TPG’s September 2025 valuation, the value of this offer is $1,388.
- Income rate: Earn 10 miles per dollar for hotels and rentals booked through Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar for flights and vacation rentals are spent on Capital One Travel booked and 2 miles per dollar for all other purchases.
- Annual credits: Receive $300 a year when booking a trip with Venture X through Capital One Travel.
- Anniversary bonus: Earn 10,000 miles on each account anniversary.
- A lounge access in the capital: Provides unlimited access to the Capital One lounge and two free guests (the price per guest has since been $45).
- Priority to pass membership: Enjoy more than 1,300 priority pass lounges around the world and travel with up to two guests.
- Global Entrance or TSA Precheck Reimbursement: A USD 120 declared credit every four years.
- No foreign transaction fees

Venture X rest policy changes
Venture X cardholders will soon notice some significant changes to the lounge access policy for guests and authorized users. The following changes will take effect on February 1, 2026:

- Authorized users will no longer receive free lounge access; instead, the primary cardholder must pay $125 per authorized user (up to four users) to receive lounge access.
- Major cardholders and authorized users will no longer be able to bring the Capital One lounge for free unless they spend at least $75,000 on the card over a calendar year; if not, the guest will be $45 per adult and $25 for children 17 and under (children under 2 years continue to enter for free).
- Similarly, even if you spend $75,000 or more on your card, priority pass visitor access will no longer be free, and the fee per guest will be $35.
Which risk X benefits are applicable to other cardholders?
While the $395 annual fee for the Venture X seems to be high on paper, a key benefit is the ability to add up to four authorized users at no extra cost. Consider Amex Platinum and Chatong Sapphire Reserve Both charge $195 per authorized user (see Amex Platinum rates and fees).
This makes Venture X a more affordable option for couples and families, and many of the privileges are also extended to authorized users.
Airport lounge access
Cardholders and authorized users receive access to Capital One Lounge:
These amenities such as Peloton bikes and quality, locally sourced food are excellent.
However, it is important to note again that starting February 1, 2026, the visitor access to authorized users’ main good people and lounge access is changing and will no longer be free.
Currently, Venture X cardholders also receive a free priority Lounge Lounge membership (two free guests who are capable of traveling with them).
But what makes Venture X’s lounge privilege even more compelling is that authorized users can enjoy the same lounge access as the primary cardholder. So you can add four free authorized users to your card, each with access to all the above lounges while also attracting guests. If you have a large family, this benefit can be priceless.
Only know that adults must accompany guests under the age of 18.
Suppose you have Venture X turned on and then add four other users. You and each of your authorized users will be able to enter Capital One and participate in the Priority Pass Lounge, as well as two free guests. Added together – five cardholders plus two guests – You can bring 15 passengers entirely into the airport lounge (one of which is you).
Please note that the exact process of accessing these lounges varies:
- A lounge in the capital: Show your Venture X card and qualified same-day confirmation entry pass.
- Priority through the lounge: Sign up for your free priority membership using your Venture X details on this link. Then, introduce your preferred pass card and qualified same-day boarding pass.
This applies to the primary cardholders and authorized users on the card.

Free Hertz Presidential Circle Elite Identity
Hertz’s partnership with Capital One grants President Hertz the elite identity of the circle**, providing collaboration for X’s major cardholders and authorized users. This top-level status provides you with guaranteed single-level car upgrades, 50% bonus points for all rentals, access to a wider range of cars and dedicated customer service lines.
Qualified cardholders must register for the Capital One website or mobile app. Cardholders can sign up by accessing the Rewards tab of their eligible cards or the Capital One Travel Fuels tab and clicking on the Hertz Benefit Tile. The primary cardholder must register authorized users through the same process.
You can also superimpose this earnings by earning additional rental car bookings on rental car bookings made by Capital One Travel. You can get the privilege of Hertz and make 10 miles of money per dollar, which are booked with Capital One Travel, which is not a stacked combination that works with other cards, portals, or rental agents. This way, you can guarantee the best of both worlds.
**After registration, it can be accessed through the Capital One website or mobile app, and qualified cardholders will maintain this status level during the quotation period. Please note that cardholders will not be automatically found to be eligible for the program through the regular Hertz Gold Plus Rewards admission process (for example, on Hertz.com) and cardholders will not automatically upgrade to the applicable status tier. Other terms apply.
Purchase and travel protection
Venture X is a visa unlimited card, so there are several important travel and purchase protections that both major cardholders and authorized users can count on:
- Mobile phone protection: Coverage of up to $800 per claim, with up to two claims and $1,600 every 12 months. $50 deduction each time.
- Reimbursement of lost luggage: If the airline damages or loses its luggage, you can receive up to $3,000 per covered trip.
- Main car rental insurance: Received up to $75,000 due to damage caused by collision or car theft.
- Purchase, Extended Warranty and Return Protection: Get up to $10,000 in revenue per claim and $50,000 in purchases per account. The warranty will be extended for an additional year. The maximum amount of revenue protection is $300 per item and $1,000 per account.
- Travel Cancellation and Interrupt Insurance: Up to $2,000 per person for prepayment for you and your immediate family members.
- Travel delay reimbursement: When your flight is delayed overnight or six hours or more, you can receive a reasonable fee of up to $500 per person, such as hotel rooms, food, toiletries or clothing.
What benefits are not risky X authorized users receive?
X Authorized User X will not receive their own $300 annual credit or other global admission or TSA Precheck application fee credit. Each of each account is limited to one credit. This means that these points should apply to the eligible fees for additional cards on the account, but they will violate the interests of the primary cardholder.
Likewise, only the primary cardholder will receive an anniversary reward of 10,000 miles.
That is, the spending of authorized users increases by one mile at the same rate as the main card, and their purchases will count to the card’s minimum spending requirement to earn an introductory bonus. So adding users to your account and spending them on your behalf (responsibly) can help you catch 75,000 reward miles faster.
How to add authorized users to your joint venture x
Once you decide to add an authorized user to your Venture X, go to your Capital One account and look for the “I Want” button on the right side of the screen. Then, click Add Account User.
You must then decide which level of access you want to provide to authorized users. You have two options:
- account Manager
- Authorized User

After viewing the options and making the selection, you will enter the authorized user’s first and last name, phone number, date of birth, and social security number.
Bottom line
There is no doubt: Capital One Venture X offers generous benefits to authorized users. The best part is that you can do without adding four additional cardholders, which makes Venture X affordable for large families and groups.
The next time you visit Capital One or Priority Pass Lounge, you may be able to bring the entire lineup thanks to these authorized user benefits. Just be aware of the February lounge access changes.
