Cracking the work search code: valid

EP 3068 Let me share data with you about work in #jobsearch
Don’t be like a politician in a job interview
Today, we will crack code in modern job search. Forgot all comments and anecdote suggestions in one minute. We will see the data actually tell us what we can do about how to hire in today’s market.
So let me ask you this. Have you ever felt like you were just pushing your resume into a black hole? You spend all this time making the perfect app, hitting the submission, and then cricket. You are definitely not alone.
This is probably the first frustration there. But what if we could take some guesses out of it? Well, that’s what we’re going to do. We will dig into some of the truly fascinating data that is highlighted by the company hunter, which plots ultra-clear digital pictures that really get the results.
OK First, you should even look for it before you even start tweaking your resume, because the platform you use proves to be very important. You know, you might think the best strategy is to blast your resume with old spray and prayer methods everywhere, but the data suggests that focusing is more effective because the response rate varies greatly depending on the work committee.
And, when you actually look at the numbers, it hasn’t even received it. You’ll see the big guys you’re expecting here, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, but Google Jobs is just a completely different alliance. 9.3%. This is the response rate of the app sent through a Google job.
Reversal Search: Turning Job Seekers to Shopping
Now I know what you are thinking. This may not sound like a huge number, but any response feels like a huge win in a job hunting game, which is basically a huge flashing neon sign that tells you exactly where to go. Just to introduce this to you, a 9.3% response rate is almost what you expect to apply on LinkedIn.
So, tell us right away that choosing the location you apply for is your first and perhaps the biggest strategic advantage. OK So you chose the right platform.
Now, what about what you actually sent? Let’s talk about your resume. Ah, yes. Eternal debate.
One or two pages? Everyone seems to have a strong opinion on this, right? OK, let’s figure out the noise and see what the numbers have to say. The answer is drum roll. It doesn’t matter.
I mean, look at this. The edge of two-page resumes is small, with a success rate of 3.69%, while one-page is 3.6%. The difference is small.
Basically it’s washing. So, if we shouldn’t be obsessed with how long, what should we focus on? Well, the data points to something else, which makes a bigger difference. Here.
The real game changer. custom made. The conversion rate for those who spend time tailoring their resume for each specific job is 5.75%.
This will definitely blow the generic 3.6% out of the water. The data is clear here. One size does not fit all sizes.
OK See, you used the right platform and you sent a beautiful custom resume, which is now the very difficult part. Wait for the game.
So how long should you really expect to wait? Let’s start with some good news. That was the first big milestone, just interviews. This happens to about half of job seekers in 22 days or less.
So there is some hope. However, it’s a big one, but don’t just pop up the champagne. Because it’s much longer from submitting that application to getting a real job opportunity.
The median time was 68.5 days. Yes, let that second. Two full months.
This is not a strange fluke. The trend actually shows that the waiting time is getting longer. The main reason for such a long wait? Well, the time it takes to get a quote increased by 22%.
It’s just a more competitive market and the recruitment process is really delaying. So what does this two-month waiting period mean for your strategy? Well, that means you know, the old ways of applying and waiting are completely broken. You need a whole new mindset.
Today’s winning mentality is indeed a continuous cycle. You submit an application to the land interview, but that’s the key. Even if you get a great interview, you will immediately go back to the first step and continue applying.
Search never stops. That’s why it’s so critical. If you pause your search, you can easily wait for two months to get a negative every time you get a good interview and you will lose all your momentum.
The only way to win this game is to always have multiple irons in the fire. All of this does lead to a very powerful truth. The skills required to find a job are different from the skills required to complete the job.
This data can help you master the first part. So the real question is not just that you are looking for a new character? Yes, are you ready to master the game you are hired?
