Alaska Airlines Partners: Who are they and how to use them

Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines recently launched their joint loyalty program, Atmos Rewards. Fortunately, this new program still offers access to many valuable Alaska airline partners, where you can earn and redeemed Atmos reward points.

So, this is a partner you should know about Alaska Airlines.

Who is Alaska Airlines partner?

There are three categories of Alaska Airlines partners: airline partners, transfer partners and other partners.

Airline partners include other airlines where you can earn points and in some cases redeemed points. Transfer Partners include programs where you can transfer rewards. Finally, other partners include a variety of travel and day-to-day partnerships where you can enjoy stipends, earn points or redeemed points.

Redemption Points for Alaska Airways Partner Flights

Atmos Rewards Publish Partner Rewards Charts at Start Rate. For example, this is the Partner Rewards Forum for Intra-American itineraries:

Of course, since the Atmos Rewards Partner Rewards Chart lists the starting rate, you may find more expensive awards when you try to redeem your travel points. As I experienced recently when I tried booking a reward flight run by Royal Jordan through Atmos Rewards, you may sometimes have issues with Phantom Awards.

Finally, remember that you can earn Atmos Reward Elite Status on flights booked with Alaska points, including those run by partners.

You may also think of transfer partners when considering an Alaska Airlines partner. In other words, what loyalty programs allow you to convert rewards to Alaska points, and what programs can you use if you want to convert Alaska points to other rewards?

Let’s start with the news that might be disappointing: You can’t convert Atmos reward points to any reward currency except Hawaiian Airlines miles (this option will end soon, as the Hawaiian Miles will transition to Atmos rewards on October 1st. However, if you hold Atmos™ Rewards Summit VisaInfinite® Credit Cardyou can transfer your points to the Select Hotel Plan (more on this later).

The news about the program you can transfer rewards is slightly better, as you can transfer Bilt Rewards points to Atmos rewards at a 1:1 ratio, while Marriott Bonvoy points are at a 3:1 ratio. You can also transfer Hawaii miles to Alaska, although this is only optional until October 1, Hawaii Mills transition to Atmos rewards.

Bottom line

Alaska Airlines partners range from credit card and dining reward programs to airline partners. Initially, you might assume that the best way to earn and redeem Alaska points is flights operated by airlines.
