Chief Product Officer Patrick Supanc
Today is Coursera Connect,Our annual conference announces the launch of Skill Tracks, our data-enabled learning solutions map to specific careers that guide learners from the basics to expert proficiency through validated skills paths.
Skill Tracks are powered by Coursera’s Career Chart, our proprietary system that analyzes millions of labor market data points, third-party competency frameworks, and our skill classifications to accurately map the relationship between jobs, skills and learning content, ensuring organizations can quickly close skill gaps.

The World Economic Forum’s Future of Job Report found in 2025 that 63% of employers view the skills gap as the biggest obstacle to business transformation, and nearly 6 out of nearly 10 workers need to be re-attacked over the next five years. With the Coursera Skill Track, leaders can ensure their teams have the right skills to improve innovation, productivity, and retention.
Key features include:
- Tailored learning experience – In addition to world-class content from industry leaders and universities like Microsoft, AWS, Yale and Stanford, learning leaders can customize skills tracks with their own content, ensuring alignment with the organization’s specific tools, workflows, and business priorities.
- Strict and verifiable credentials – Learners are based on real-world assessments, towards the progress of vouchers, providing motivation and evidence that skills are not only learned, but also proven.
- Real-time insights and aligned with business goals – Regularly track learning progress and continuous content updates to ensure skill tracking is up to date with market demand, aligned with changing role requirements, and directly link skill acquisition to business performance and growth.

Starting today, there are four skill tracks available:
- Software and Products – Covering the most critical skills in mobile development, product management, UX design, web development and software development
- it – Including necessary skills in computer systems and architecture, network security, IT management, IT support and operations, and network engineering
- data – Develop key skills in data analytics, data engineering, data management, and AI and machine learning
- Genai – Teach the practical application of artificial intelligence to employees and leaders in customer service, human resources, finance, law, marketing, products, sales, etc.

Over the next few months, we will introduce other skill tracks and enhancements, including skill diagnosis, to help learners start at the right level and validate skill paths through performance-based skills assessments to generate certificates that reflect practical, employment-ready expertise.
