Bob Dylan announces new art book Point Blank to be released this fall

Bob Dylan will focus on the other side of his creative output this fall with the new art book “Point Blank” released by Simon & Schuster.

The series brings together nearly 100 black and white paintings by Dylan for 2021 and 2022, providing a rare behind-the-scenes drawing to explore works originally studied as large-scale paintings in his Point Blank series.
These drawings reflect Dylan’s keen eye of observation from portraits and still lifes to cityscapes and brief moments. Subjects included ski lovers, karaoke singers, Paris’ canals, a set of armor, and even simple Scottish tape. Each piece is accompanied by prose vignettes from Eddie Gorodetsky, Jackie Hamilton and Lucy Sante, and adds context to the ambiguous storytelling familiar to the artist. Sean Manning, editorial director of Simon & Schuster, described the series as “ambiguity in a single image – general and tired, joy, humor, humor, humor, sensuality, mystery and familiarity and familiarity.”

Dylan’s work as a visual artist has long been parallel to his legendary music career. His paintings and paintings have appeared on “Self-Portraits and Planetary Waves” on the cover of the album, and his gallery career officially formed the Drawn Black series, which was first exhibited in 2007. Over the past two decades, Dylan’s visual output has expanded through exhibitions in the United States and Europe, and critics have often shown his paintings and hierarchical compositions in his paintings and pictorial symbols.

The release of “Point Blank” will be linked to the first unmissed audiobook version of “Chronicles: Volume One”, Dylan’s famous 2004 memoir, read by Sean Penn. Book a fall release on Amazon for $45.
