I received a HR call tonight and was told I had been selected. She said it would take 14 days to receive the offer. Can I rest assured that I will definitely get one? I can assure you, but what do I know?
The fact of this is 14 days – 14 calendar days, 14 working days? I’m going to assume a calendar day. What they mean is that we are going to sign all paperwork for two weeks to extend the written quote to you. I know you’ve accepted the verbal offer, but you know, it’s almost going to take us – we’ll take two weeks to get you an actual quote letter. Seriously, seriously, keep on the interview because there is no guarantee until you receive the offer letter. For some, they have experienced receiving an offer letter and still cancelled the offer. So, continue the interview. It doesn’t make sense until you have a letter.
They said, “Are you still talking to the company?” Well, yes, I don’t have your offer letter. You told me we were going to make an offer, but there was no protection until I received a offer. So unless I receive the offer, I can – the data is the data you tell me – I’m ready to say yes, sign, and work for you. But until that time, frankly, I was going to keep searching because there was no confirmation of the offer letter, I had no offer. You get it.
