Avios has reintroduced its Avios transfer tool, making it easier to move Avios points between all airline programs using this unique reward currency.
Now, seven airlines use Avios as their loyalty program currency: British Airways Club, Iberian Club, Aer Lingus Aerclub, Vueling Club, Loganair Loyalty, Qatar Airways Privileges Club and Finnair Plus.
Previously, it was a bit complicated to move Avios between accounts. Only certain programs are allowed to transfer and through different platforms, sometimes faulty and unreliable. Avios transfers can now be performed between all programs that use Avios as its currency in a given location.
In different Avios programs, this well-known tool will help travelers get the best value when redeeming their Avios.
How the tool improves and what changes will be
The most significant change in this tool update is that members can now move Avios directly between Iberia Club, Aer Lingus Aerclub, Vueling Club, and Loganair loyalty programs. In the past, these transfers had to be routed through the British Airways Club, which often made the process slower and less reliable.
Another improvement is the removal of the old Iberian club rules, which require opening an Iberian club account for 90 days and earning at least one Avios before any transfers can be made. The restrictions have been lifted, meaning that you are now eligible to send or receive Avios’ new Iberian club accounts immediately. This allows travelers who only open accounts with specific redemption, promotion or transfer bonuses to start using without waiting for a few months.

The process is also completely online. Previously, members could sometimes call the service center to request a transfer, but the option was discontinued. Now all transfers must be done via the Transfer Avios page.
Finally, the new system introduces stronger security. Transfers require two-factor authentication, which adds an extra step, but ensures that your Avios is better protected.

How to use this tool to transfer your Avios
If you have more than one Avios Airline loyalty account, it is now worthwhile to set up linking your account in the future for easy transfers by following these steps:
- Go to Avios.com and select “Transfer Avios”.
- Log in with any of your Avios Airlines Loyalty Program account credentials.
- Select any of the seven airline loyalty programs you want to link to. If you have not signed up for that particular airline loyalty program, do this first.
- Enter details for this account. Your name, email address, and date of birth (if the record) must match exactly, otherwise the account will not be able to link.
- Confirm the link. Once established, the connection is permanent, so double-check before committing.
- Select the program from which you want to send Avios and the program to which you want to send Avios.
- Enter the number of Avios to be transferred. No minimum amount required, no fees. All transfers are at a 1:1 rate, which can be reversed if needed, which is great flexibility.
- Complete two-factor authentication when prompted.
- Wait for confirmation message. In most cases, the transfer is instant.
At least one Avios program is the transfer partner of each credit card currency, making Avios easy to make money and now easier to transfer and exchange.
