How to register and track platinum benefits in the AMEX app

American Express has launched an updated experience in its app that makes it easier for its top cardholders to find, register and track their stated credits and benefits.
This is a useful update if you have ever lost tracks of points that you need to activate.
Currently, this updated tool is available for American Express Platinum Card® and American Express Business Platinum Card®. It has been launched along with updates to personal and business cards, both of which offer new statement credit and privileges.
It also follows the launch of the new Amex Travel App, which can help travelers discover destinations, plan trips, and even check in waiting time at Centurion Lounges before flying.
Together, the updates say AMEX has promoted the modernization of its digital experience more widely and makes quality travel and shopping allowances easier to use.
How to find the benefits of platinum in the app
Open the American Express app for iOS or Android. Click the Membership tab, select your platinum card, and then click Explore Benefits.
There you will see a list of statement credits and privileges available on the card.
Each benefit shows how much you are using and the remaining time you are currently using, whether it is monthly, annually, annually or annually. This makes it easy to see which credits you might want to use before they expire.
As you can see from the screenshot below, I need to use my (new) up to $300 biennial hotel statement credit, my (enhanced) digital entertainment statement remaining $5 (now up to $25 per month), and I haven’t used the (new) latest $75 quarter Lululemon credit (available for our Store of Store, and online, and excluded a third of the locations online.

Selected benefits require registration.

If the benefits need to be activated, you will see “Required for admission”. Digging out the tiles will activate the gains so you can start earning a statement credit or enjoy a stipend.

As you can see above, I’m not on the Marriott Metal Status yet (because I have platinum status through another card), and I need to join the Leader Club Club Status in the world’s leading hotels.
What will you see on business platinum
Business Platinum members can also use the same experience. The interface looks similar to the personal version, but highlights different benefits such as (up to $360 per year for registration credit, registration required) and U.S. Wireless Services Statement Credits up to $120 per year, registration required). These also show how much you use and how much you have left.
Putting this information in one place is especially useful for small business owners who want to make sure they don’t leave value on their desks.
What does not include
Currently, this feature appears to be available only on platinum branded cards.
Conrand Cards such as Delta Air Lines and Hilton Cards do not currently show their benefits lists, nor track declared credits in the app. This means you still need to keep your own records or rely on statements from these products to publish.
For example, I have not used a biennial Hilton Resort Statement Credit Level for up to $200 in the second half of the year Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card – However, there is no spending tracker on the AMEX application.

In the future, American Express may extend this feature to other cards, but for now, it’s a platinum-only revitalization.
Quick note about the new Amex Travel app
American Express also launched a new AMEX Travel app for iOS (an Android version is expected to be available in October).
It is separate from the main Amex app and is designed to help CardMembers plan travel, explore destinations and view real-time waiting times at the Centurion Lounge Lounge location.

It doesn’t show your benefits or credits, but it can be a useful companion when traveling and planning your trip.
Bottom line
The updated American Express app makes it easier to sign up and track your Platinum Card benefits.
By showing your available statement credits, how much you use and how often they reset, the app helps ensure you don’t miss out on valuable perks you can receive in exchange for paying for senior year fees.
If you have platinum or commercial platinum, it’s worth opening the app to see what benefits you might not maximize.
