Shaping the future of art, design and architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art – Huge

The Cranbrook School of Art is not only a graduate school, but also a dynamic community for architects, artists and designers to redefine visual and material culture. Cranbrook has been the “incubator of modernism in the mid-century” for decades, and Cranbrook has been at the forefront of innovation, and has had a graduate impact far exceeding the intimate scale of the college for nearly a century.

Cranbrook, founded in Michigan, a colony of experimental artists in Michigan, remains its roots. Instead of its traditional and rigid courses, you will be closely guided with resident teachers and artists (known practitioners actively shaping their fields) while pursuing your own problems, experiments, and ambitions. With time, space and support from diverse and collaborative communities, you will find yourself free to be an artist and professional.

Cranbrook ranks among the top graduate programs in the country’s top art, architecture, and design, allowing students to enter the industry with confidence. Our community includes up to 150 graduate students in 10 disciplines: architecture, ceramics, fiber, graphic design, industrial design, metal painting, painting, photography, printing media and sculpture.

Accessibility is at the heart of our mission. During the current school year, 97% of students receive gift funds. Each year, we will provide up to 10 All-Ambition Gilbert Scholarships to students from all backgrounds and receive over 50 merit scholarships. In addition to campus, we can help students get residency, scholarships and opportunities in leading design studios.

Learn more about our plans on October 25th during the Open Day. If you can’t do this, please join us for the upcoming webinar or arrange portfolio reviews. There is no other school (no other place) like this at all.
