Have you jumped straight into writing your resume and wondered why you didn’t get results? You are skipping the most powerful steps! #short reveals why creating a detailed skill list before writing resume words is an absolute game rule.
If you are going to write a resume, I don’t want you to write a resume first. I hope you first consider all the skills you have accumulated professionally in your career and focus on the past few years. Because the truth is, I want you to think about the work you have done, the skills that apply to the next organization.
so, Summary of skills inventory for yourself. Think about what you use at work, or maybe you volunteer to use a specific skill somewhere. This is because it will remind you of things you might have forgotten. You can add to these; you can subtract these.
Think from the most important skills of the type of work you want to do. Or, this is my preference, List everything. List all skills gained since entering the workforce, focusing on the past 5 to 10 years. This will make resume writing easier because you will be able to relate these skills to the work you do and the work you will be doing.
