Claire’s Life in Paris: Mouse Collection lbd Moments at the Eiffel Tower

On my last day in Paris during Paris Fashion Week, I captured the Eiffel Tower wearing a dress from Mahogani Collections, a black women-owned brand.
The textured black floral dress felt sculptural yet romantic, the perfect balance of strength and femininity as I posed against one of the most iconic backdrops in the world.

The Mahogani line was founded by mother-daughter duo Phyllis Mitchell and Christine Eades, who began their journey making handmade jewelry in Detroit and then expanded into fashion. Their work speaks to vintage, artistry, and the generational power of black women in design—a story I’m honored to tell on a global stage. From Michigan Fashion Week to Bomb Fashion Show and now Paris, their journey is a testament to vision and perseverance.

As I stood with the Eiffel behind me, I felt profound gratitude not only for the view, but for the opportunity to use my platform to shine a spotlight on emerging designers who deserve to be seen. Fashion is more than just clothes. It’s culture, connection and community. When one of us rises, we all do. ✨
