The puppies that take center stage in Alison Friend’s beloved paintings feature an array of personalities that feel all too familiar: several devour pastries, sip cocktails, and even display their self-portraits on everyone’s favorite toy, Etch-a-Sketch.

Friend is known for her witty pieces that depict our family friends in the style of the old masters, bringing a sense of awe to her furry subjects.
