Another stupid resume mistake

Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter discusses another silly resume mistake. What would his mother say?
Why workshops, courses and bootcamps don’t work
This is another stupid mistake people make on their resumes. They think they are fooling someone. But, as my mother always said, “The only person you fool is yourself.”
The error lies here.
Your resume says the years 2010 to 2013 and where you worked. Then it says 2014 to present or 2013 to present.
Businesses and third-party recruiters will immediately think you’re pulling the wool over their eyes. No one likes this. If your hiring manager and you saw a resume like this, your first reaction would be, “How long have you been unemployed?” Right?
Why do you think things were different when you were involved?
Put a few months in there. It’s going to come out, it’s not like you’re fooling anyone. Just put the month and year in your resume and we can discuss it directly.
If this is a problem for someone on their resume, I can guarantee you it will be a problem for them personally. They’ll check out the date before doing anything else just to find out what you’ve lied to or hidden from them.
