The otherworldly and greedy top 2025 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition — Colossal

The 2025 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition (previously) selected 100 images from a record 60,636 submissions that capture the breadth of life on Earth. The 61st annual competition, hosted by London’s Natural History Museum, takes place in a variety of habitats, from brown hyenas sneaking through an abandoned diamond mine in Namibia to orb-weaver spiders illuminated by kaleidoscopes of headlights. Together, the photos present a timely reflection on our environmental impact, as well as a stunning glimpse into the planet’s many gems.

As always, you can find some of the winning photos below, but all can be viewed on the museum’s website or in person until July 12, 2026. Photographers can also submit their work for the 2026 competition until December 4.
