8 Ways to Make the Most of the American Express Business Platinum Card

Choose your airline and get a $200 expense statement credit and 35% bonus
one of the top American Express Business Platinum Card Benefit is an airline fee bill credit of up to $200 per calendar year on the qualifying airline of your choice (registration required). You can use this points to pay for anything from checked bag fees to airline lounge passes.
It’s important to note that you must select your airline to earn points. To do this, simply visit the American Express website and select from the list of eligible airlines.
Once you make your choice, you’ll also receive a 35% airline bonus when you pay with points. This is when you choose to redeem Membership Rewards points to pay for all or part of an eligible flight with American Express Travel.

You are eligible for points rebate only when you book with pre-selected eligible airlines, and are limited to a maximum of 1 million points per calendar year.
While you’re technically limited to the airline of your choice throughout the calendar year, you can change your selection by contacting customer service. Generally, you can only change airlines if you haven’t taken advantage of these benefits this year.

Register for business-related reporting credits

To sign up for these statement points, log into your American Express account and select “Sign Up” for each benefit.
- Adobe: Earn up to $250 in bill credit after spending $600 or more on U.S. purchases directly from Adobe (from July 1 to December 31, 2025, and each calendar year thereafter; automatically renewable)*
- Dell: Up to $1,150 Total Statement Credit – Earn up to $150 in bill credit per calendar year on U.S. purchases made directly with Dell, plus up to $1,000 in bill credit after spending $5,000 or more at Dell (from July 1 to December 31, 2025, and each calendar year thereafter)*
- indeed: Up to $360 in bill credits per calendar year; up to $90 allocated per calendar quarter*
- Wireless phone service: For U.S. service, receive up to $120 in statement credits per calendar year, with a maximum monthly allocation of $10*

Also, it’s worth noting that if your business spends $250,000 on qualifying purchases in a calendar year, you’ll unlock these points for use in the next calendar year:
- Get up to $1,200 in bill points when booking flights with Amex Travel
- Get up to $2,400 in statement credits with American Express One AP payments

Apply for Global Entry or TSA Pre-Check

You’ll receive up to $120 for Global Entry every four years, or up to $85 for PreCheck every 4.5 years.

Sign up for Clear Plus
Another solid benefit that business travelers can take advantage of American Express Business Platinum Card Yes Clear Plus claims credit.
First, you must register for this benefit on the American Express website. You’ll then earn up to $209 in Clear Plus bill credits each calendar year, which means a completely free membership (which automatically renews).
Clear Plus members can access dedicated lanes at TSA checkpoints through Clear. You then simply enter your biometric data into the kiosk to proceed. This saves a lot of time.

Plan to stay at Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection
