I went through the entire process and it took about a minute of texting back and forth with United to get my coupon code. The offer is only available to the first 1,000 people who choose to participate via text message.
To use your code, open United’s advanced search and scroll down to the “Upgrades, Certificates & Promotional Codes” section. Then enter your discount code in the “Promotions and Certificates” box.
If your flight qualifies for a flash sale, you’ll see discounted fares labeled “On Sale” in your search results. The 10% discount applies to base fare only and does not include taxes or government-imposed fees or surcharges.

For example, I looked up airfares for a vacation in January from my Denver headquarters to Miami Beach. With this promotion, I was able to get a round-trip flight for just $217, compared to $237 without the promo code.
that’s not a huge Savings – But for me and three friends on a girls trip, the total savings for four people was $80.
According to a United representative, “The 10% discount applies to one-way and round-trip flights.” However, when I searched for the example flights, I kept getting an error code when I tried to search one-way, so your one-way options may be more limited.
Maximize your booking
If you take advantage of this promotion, don’t forget to pay for your tickets with one of the best cards for United purchases. Some United co-branded cards offer travel day perks like priority boarding, free checked bags, and even lounge access. Other travel cards offer additional rewards for purchasing airline tickets or points toward airline fees.

Is United’s Halloween Flash Sale a Great Deal? Hey, in today’s economy, a 10% discount is nothing to sneeze at. Unfortunately, you can’t use it for holiday travel around Thanksgiving and New Year’s (see blackout dates above), but you can use it for other travel between now and March 9, 2026.
If you’re planning a domestic trip in the next few months, it’s worth booking (or rebooking) your tickets before October 31 to save 10%. Keep in mind that this is a first-come, first-served offer and is only valid for the first 1,000 redeemers, so if you’re interested, we recommend purchasing as soon as possible.
