November Forecast – Julia Berolzheimer

November is one of my favorite months. The air finally feels crisp and cool, the days are getting shorter, and everything is starting to take on that quiet, cozy vibe I look forward to all year. This time naturally brings slower mornings, more time at home, and meaningful gatherings with friends and family. It’s also what I consider the beginning of nesting season – setting the table, choosing gifts, lighting candles and making our house feel warm and festive.
Our calendar is full this month, from some exciting work moments (my birthday, a party, co-hosting a cabin in Charleston) to getting ready for Thanksgiving and the start of the holidays. I’m sharing my birthday wish list, what I’m putting together for the Thanksgiving table, and some pieces that feel especially good right now—soft textures, rich colors, and special details.
what we are doing
- November is my birthday monthI’ve been dreaming up a bucket list just for fun – because dreams are free! A few pieces I would like to add to my jewelry box:
- I’m in Christmas prep modewhich basically means I’m stocking up on wrapping paper, planning decorations, and keeping an eye on when to roll out. We’ve put up holiday lights for November 4th, which Thomas thinks is a bit excessive, but I’m so ready for the holidays! For those of you asking every year, we have The Balsam Mountain Artificial Tree 9′ size.
- We’re going to have a big eventI was torn between several outfit options—each with its own mood. Currently being debated:
- we’re having thanksgiving This year in our house – Thomas takes over the kitchen (as usual) and I take care of the dining table. I tend to use warm, layered textures:
- This week I’m co-hosting Cabana in Charleston. It was a real treat to meet Cabana founder Martina, who I have long admired for her taste, aesthetic and the worlds she builds with her beautiful brand.
- Finally: Wicked 2 will be released on November 21stI’ve circled it. I will be watching the full holiday pattern with the girls!
what do i wear
November tends to bring about the coziest, richest textures in my wardrobe, and this month is no different. I tend to go for velvets, soft knits, dark tones and pieces that are equally suitable for casual days and upcoming festive events.
what do i want to buy
As the holidays approach, I’ve been bookmarking things that strike a balance between practical and special—from gifts to entertainment to some personal wardrobe additions.
what am i looking at
This month, I’m craving pieces that are layered, moody, and a bit like jewelry boxes. There’s a sense of luxury that’s always caught my eye – a mix of velvet, jewel tones, candlelight, old world and playful styles.
- Pucci orchid silk trousers – A bold color story with beautiful tailoring. I would wear them to a holiday dinner with a fitted turtleneck and heels.
- Hawkins New York Holiday Decoration
- Discovery of the Rambler’s House
- KRB New York light – this A pair of bright lights Breathtaking. I was attracted by its shape and rich colors.
- Tiny Gods satin diamond edge bracelet – Stylish and wearable, this has been on my list for months. Low profile, with plenty of shine.
- Este tableware above the moon – I’ve been wanting to renovate a few things in our china cabinet and this Vecchia Turin Suit in multi is a subtle and refreshing color combination.
- Abbey Hotel de Voselnay – I bookmarked this hotel as soon as I saw it. The interiors, the sets – it’s like walking into a storybook.
- Everything Etro Home Page – Their home collection is one of the most inspiring I’ve seen recently. This is what I saved:
