Clear Plus expands concierge airport services for members

Security company Clear is expanding its premium airport concierge service for members, which can help travelers get through the airport faster.

The service has been expanded to several new airports, including those in San Diego, Atlanta and Sacramento.

Clear Plus is a secure identity membership program currently available at 59 U.S. airports as well as stadiums and other large venues. Its platform has more than 31 million members.

The service is designed to provide members with a complete VIP experience.

“Even members who travel frequently need a little extra help sometimes,” Clear executive vice president of travel and aviation Kyle McLaughlin told TPG in an interview before the service launched in July. “We offer members the ability to book a Clear Ambassador who can help them enjoy the airport experience like a VIP.”

The service is available in two levels: Concierge Express, which includes transparent ambassadors who meet travelers curbside to expedite their passage through security; and Concierge Gate Service, an upgraded version of Concierge Express that also includes check-in and baggage, airport directions and guidance to the departure gate. It is only available to Clear members for an additional fee.

A regular Clear membership costs $209 per year (although some credit cards cover the cost entirely or at a discount). Concierge Express is an additional $99 per use and Concierge Gate Service is an additional $179 per use. Children under 17 can still use Clear Lanes for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult who holds a membership and pays the concierge fee.

To use the concierge service, you need to make a reservation here. Simply log into your Clear Me account, select an airport, then select your flight dates and the type of service you want.
