Most people don’t get hired by the company they really want to work for on their first try. If this happens to you and you’re determined, do the following.
Secret Interview Tips: Get Hired Over the Competition
If you don’t qualify for a position at a company you really want to work for, or a position at a company you really want to work for, here’s a strategy to help you do that, maybe not in this job search, but in future job searches.
I’m Jeff Altman, big game hunter. People hire me worldwide to provide job search guidance and career advice without a bachelor’s degree because I make the process of finding and succeeding in a job easier. You know, it’s like baseball; sometimes you need that stepping stone in the minor leagues to be able to work for the company that you really want to be, uh, in the major leagues.
Here’s what you can do: Visit LinkedIn. Pay attention to the backgrounds of people you may interview. See where they worked before and where they developed the skills to qualify for a job at the company you actually want to work for. Try to find a job in these organizations. People tend to like previous employers and people who have worked there, so what you can do is take the time to learn what you need to know at those companies so you’ll be more qualified to move into larger companies.
All in all, it doesn’t have to be the end for you, uh, especially at the company you want. It could be an opportunity to learn what you really need to know in order to qualify there. I can help you more at JobSearch.Community. Come to the scene. I have free stuff on my homepage. If you would like me to review your resume, I can do that as well. It can, it’s dirt cheap, and become an insider so I can guide you. I want to help.
