Lowry resigned as director of the Museum of Modern Art in September, ending a 30-year tenure and becoming the longest-serving leader in the institution’s history. Lowry led MoMA through several major changes, including two renovations and an expansion.

The 2019 expansion increased MoMA’s square footage to 708,000 square feet while creating impactful redisplays of the collection, breaking down barriers between art, architecture, dance, film and other historically siled disciplines. His accomplishments also include the merger of PS1, a former contemporary art space at a Long Island City school, with MoMA. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and an advisory board member of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, the Mori Art Museum, and the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.

French-American financier and collector Liones Sauvage has held leadership positions in numerous cultural institutions, including the American Friends of the Louvre and the Wallace Collection in London. Sauvage currently serves as president of Les Arts Décoratif, a French non-profit organization that includes the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Musée Nissim de Camondo and Ecole Camondo, Paris’ leading design and interior design school.

An expert on 18th-century French art, he lent works from his collection to Domaine de Chantilly for exhibitions. In recognition of his patronage, he was made an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters and a Chevalier of the Order of Merit.

As of 2023, the J. Paul Getty Trust’s endowment is $8.59 billion, making it the richest arts trust in the world. It supports the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Foundation, the Getty Research Institute and the Getty Conservation Institute.
