Recruiters know something you don’t: They’re not watching all those screening videos
Are you wondering why your resume might not be getting the responses you really expected when you applied through LinkedIn? I can tell you why. I’m Jeff Altman, big game hunter. People hire me to provide job search coaching and career advice around the world because I make the process of finding and succeeding in a job easier.
Someone shared an issue they discovered, and remember, LinkedIn sells ads to employers to advertise jobs. They recently implemented artificial intelligence as part of the front-end evaluation process before sending resumes to hiring managers and recruiters. This person discovered that unless you had the exact position advertised, people would be rejected. Note this: AI cannot recognize synonyms in titles. All they know is that if it says it’s looking for a business analyst, then it needs a business analyst. It does not require an advanced bachelor’s degree; it does not require a senior business analyst. It requires a business analyst. Otherwise, you will be rejected.
