LOT Polish Airlines to launch San Francisco route in 2026

Bay Area travelers will have new flight options to Europe next summer.
LOT Polish Airlines will launch new direct flights between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and its hub Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) on May 6, 2026.
Boeing 787 flights operate four days a week, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
“Transatlantic flights are of strategic importance to LOT Polish Airlines,” Robert Ludera, LOT network development director, said in a statement. “The new route will not only connect the heart of Europe with global hubs of technology and innovation, but will also create new opportunities for business travelers and tourists.”
SFO is LOT’s first new U.S. destination since it launched flights to Miami International Airport (MIA) in 2019, according to flight schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium. The Polish airline also serves Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
LOT is a member of Star Alliance and a partner of United Airlines. This means members of United’s MileagePlus loyalty program can earn and spend points on LOT flights and receive reciprocal elite status benefits.

LOT uses the Lufthansa Group’s Miles & More loyalty program as its own programme.
The Polish airline is the first new international airline to be established at SFO since South Korea’s Air Premia landed at the airport in May 2024.
“This represents the culmination of more than eight years of dedicated work by our aviation marketing and development teams to address long-standing demand for non-stop flights to Central Europe,” SFO Director Mike Nakornkhet said in a statement.
Cirium timetables show that SAS’ Copenhagen and Lufthansa and United’s Munich are the most easterly European destinations currently flown directly from SFO.
