JetBlue to start flights to Barcelona and Milan in 2026

JetBlue aircraft will land in two new iconic European cities in 2026.
JetBlue Airways announced Wednesday that the New York-based airline will add new transatlantic routes for the sixth consecutive summer.
These two destinations are likely to be popular with travelers: Milan and Barcelona.
JetBlue’s two new routes will launch from its Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) hub in spring 2026.
Flights from Boston to Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) in Spain will begin in mid-April. Nonstop flights from New England to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) will begin in a few weeks, in early May.
This latest expansion will give JetBlue a total of eight European cities and nine trans-Atlantic airports – a rapid increase considering the airline will only begin operating trans-Atlantic service in 2021.
JetBlue also announced Wednesday that it will resume all seasonal destinations it has offered in Europe over the past few years, from Dublin to Edinburgh and Madrid.
“We are proud to continue to offer incredible value and style on both sides of the Atlantic,” the airline’s CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a statement announcing the news.

- BOS-BCN — Launching April 16
- BOS-MXP — Launching May 11
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, November 20th.
The airline will use Airbus A321 aircraft on these routes, which include lie-flat Mint suites.
We should also note: JetBlue passengers booking the airline’s Mint cabin on European routes will have access to its upcoming lounge network, which will open in New York later this year and Boston in 2026.
JetBlue targets Italy, doubles down on Spain
In recent years, airlines have frequently mentioned Italy and Spain as popular destinations with travelers.
JetBlue points to Milan as a major gateway for travelers looking to visit Lake Como. (Personally, I’m also using MXP as my gateway to Italy’s Piedmont wine region this summer.)
As for Barcelona, JetBlue is expanding to eastern Spain a year after launching Madrid service, which will also return in 2026.

Expanding the European agenda
These new European destinations from Boston will give JetBlue a total of nine transatlantic routes from its New England hub, where much of JetBlue’s recent international growth has been focused.

Here’s how the rest of JetBlue’s Boston-to-Europe flights will change in 2026:
- BOS flights to Dublin, Edinburgh and Madrid – resume 16 April
- BOS to London Gatwick (LGW) – Resumes 21 May
- BOS flights to Amsterdam, Paris and London Heathrow (LHR) operate year-round
Here’s information about JetBlue’s 2026 European flights from its headquarters at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK):
- JFK to Amsterdam — Resumes March 28
- JFK flights to Dublin and Edinburgh — resume April 29
- Year-round JFK flights: Paris (one daily) and London Heathrow (two daily)

bottom line
While JetBlue has been rapidly increasing the number of European routes over the past few years, these may be the last we see of new transatlantic routes.
Speaking this fall, JetBlue President Marty St. George noted that the airline expects to take delivery of only two more aircraft capable of flying to Europe between now and 2031.
“We are about to hit the first plateau of transatlantic growth,” St. George told an industry conference in September.
