A series of everyday and bodily experiences created by lens artist Hasti Najafi. Born in Tehran and currently studying fine art in Zurich, Najafi’s practice includes experimenting with objects and experiences from everyday life and exploring what is hidden in photographic images. “That’s not it, you idiot!” (2023-2024) focuses on the interplay between Najafi’s body, his surroundings, and how the two question the other’s existence. These images are intimate representations of life – both familiar and unfamiliar – juxtaposed as a way of creating something new.
