St. Regis Hotels & Resorts to launch St. Regis Estate in 2027

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is launching a new collection of St. Regis Estates in 2027 to honor historic hotels.

The hotel group told TPG that the new brand expression will be specific to “historic, leisure-led estates”, with each hotel selected based on “historical resonance and extraordinary natural surroundings”. The first hotel to receive this designation is The Resort at Pelican Hill, an iconic hotel in Newport Beach, California, which first joined the Marriott Hotels Group last year.

“For the Astor family, the founding family of the St. Regis brand, the ultimate luxury is retreating from the city to your own country estate, where you can enjoy refined and relaxing time with your loved ones in a setting rich in heritage and a rare sense of belonging,” George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand head of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement shared with TPG. “This ideal resonates deeply with today’s luxury traveler. With St. Regis Estates, we honor this heritage by celebrating the origins of each estate and creating ways for people to come together to embrace beauty, connection and the simple pleasure of slowing down.”

Fleck added that each property within St. Regis Estates has been selected for its “narrative capabilities, architectural features and expansive cinematic backdrop, offering a more engaging and in-depth residential resort experience.”

Regis Estate’s first hotel, newly renamed The Resort at Pelican Hill, A St. Regis Estate, will undergo renovations including new bungalows and villas with fresh interiors, new culinary experiences and a redesigned Pelican Hill Bar inspired by King Cole’s Bar. The hotel also said it will enhance its 36-hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio.

The property currently sits on more than 500 acres and features a collection of bungalow rooms and suites with limestone fireplaces, private terraces and warm wood-beamed ceilings, as well as two-, three- and four-bedroom villas. The resort’s architectural style was inspired by the 16th-century Italian architect Andrea Palladio, with Italian plaster veneers and handcrafted terracotta finishes, complemented by olive, cypress, fig and pine trees.

Guests can relax in the Coliseum Pool, which is lined with more than 1 million hand-cut glass mosaic tiles and will be enhanced during renovations, or head to the spa to find the Acqua Colonnade, modeled after a Roman bath.

The renovations will also include a new Bella Vista Pool Café and Social Club and an “elevated” villa clubhouse.

Kevin Kelly, the hotel’s general manager, said in a statement that the new name “reflects the resort’s ethos as a true sanctuary — a place where guests can experience the rhythms of Southern California through art, nature and cuisine, elevated by the craftsmanship and service of a St. Regis hotel.”
