Chase Airport Lounges: A Complete Guide

Credit card issuers compete on many fronts, but one of the fiercest is airport lounges. Chase is making strides in this area with its Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club. To gain access you will need the correct credit card.
Currently, nine Chase lounges are open, but one international lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) will close on January 5, 2026. Plans are currently confirmed to open 2 additional US lounges in the future.
While American Express remains the undisputed heavyweight in this space with its global collection of lounges, Capital One is also making inroads in the space with its Capital One airport lounges. With more lounges opening all the time, it’s important to know your options at any airport you pass through.
Here’s the latest information on current and future Sapphire Lounges, along with what to expect and how to access them.

The lounge offers a self-service buffet, the option to order using QR codes, a full-service bar with locally inspired cocktails and a unique bistro serving craft beers. Additionally, the lounge offers a wellness room with massage chairs and comfortable lounge chairs for guests to relax in.
Dulles International Airport (IAD) Lounge
The Etihad Lounge at Dulles is located in Terminal A near Gate A14. Like the lounge at JFK, this is a Chase-turned-Etihad lounge. It’s small but has two levels with plenty of seating and exits, gender-neutral toilets, a reflection room and a family room.

We’ll detail how to access all of these locations below, but Etihad Airways’ premium passengers can access the lounge even if they’re not Chase cardholders.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) VIP Lounge
HKG’s Chase Sapphire Lounge opens in October 2022, becoming the first Sapphire Lounge to open. It is located near Gate 40 in the West Hall of the International Departure Area.
However, the lounge will close in early 2026. Its last day of operation will be January 4, 2026.

Passengers departing from the East Concourse can take a shuttle bus or walk 10 to 15 minutes to the lounge.
Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) Location
The LAS Issuer Lounge is located in Terminal 1, Concourse C, between the security checkpoints 23 and 24. Opening in December 2025, the lounge will occupy 4,590 square feet over two floors and accommodate up to 87 people.
It’s particularly compact compared to other Sapphire lounges, but the atmosphere packs a punch. The space features colorful artwork and a lively atmosphere.

Food options include Momofuku snacks (pork buns and spicy cucumber salad, anyone?). Visitors can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine in the Champagne Room upstairs.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) location
The issuer will open a lounge at Los Angeles International Airport on a yet-to-be-determined date. It will be located near the west entrance of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, adjacent to Gate 148.
All LAX terminals are connected airside (after security), meaning any traveler can theoretically access the lounge, although the Tom Bradley International Terminal is a bit out of the way for some travelers.

The new lounge is approximately 9,000 square feet, which is relatively small, especially for an airport as large as LAX.
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Lounge
The Sapphire Lounge is located in Terminal 4 next to the Amex Centurion Lounge. Like the IAD location, this space is a redesigned Etihad Lounge rather than a Chase Lounge created from scratch.

It is located between Terminal D (home to Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Spirit Airlines, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines) and Terminal E (home to Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines). It has a similar layout to other Chase lounges but has some unique features. There is a wellness center, two treatment rooms with complimentary facials, two shower suites, a game room, a spacious bar with Philadelphia Eagles-themed beverages, a beer garden and local cuisine at the Middle Child Clubhouse.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) Location
Opening in November 2024, PHX’s Sapphire Lounge will be located in Terminal 4’s new eight-door facility. This new South Concourse serves as Southwest Airlines’ headquarters. A connecting bridge connects it to the North Concourse, which contains the gates occupied by American Airlines.
The lounge will be open for bookings from June 2025. You can reserve your seat up to three hours before your scheduled departure time, and you don’t need to be physically present to make your reservation.

Who can use the Chase Sapphire Lounge?
Chase Sapphire Reserve® (See Rates and Fees), Chase Sapphire Business Reserve℠ (See Rates and Fees), JP Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton™ credit card holders may use these lounges.
J.P. Morgan Reserve Card and Ritz-Carlton Credit Card information is collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Chase Sapphire Reserve and JP Morgan Reserve cardholders can also bring up to two guests for free per visit. If you are a cardholder and wish to bring more than two guests, a fee will apply. Guests with a Ritz-Carlton credit card can bring an unlimited number of guests at no extra charge. Children under 2 years old are admitted free, regardless of what card you have.
Beyond simply pleasing cardholders, planning a lounge network increasingly appears to be a strategy Chase needs to adopt in order to stay competitive in the increasingly crowded premium rewards card space, more of which are starting to offer lounge access.

Can I enter the Chase lounge without a Chase card?
All Priority Pass members have access to the Chase Lounge once per calendar year and pay for guest access, even if membership is obtained through a different credit card.
Additionally, access to Chase Lounges in Hong Kong is not limited to Chase cardholders – anyone with a Priority Pass or Lounge Key membership can use it for free.

Select Etihad guests (the airline’s Gold and Platinum Elite members and those traveling in Business or First Class on Etihad-operated flights) can visit JFK and IAD locations before flying.

bottom line
For years, American Express’ Centurion Lounge network was the only major player in the card-operated lounge space. But there’s no question that competition for airport lounges is increasing among the major credit card issuers. As competition forces issuers to up their game, Travelers is the real winner.
