Chase Points Boost no longer available at 2 cents per point across all The Edit properties

One of our favorite elements from the massive makeover Chase Sapphire Reserve® (See Rates and Charges) – and launch Chase Sapphire Business Reserve℠ (See Rates & Fees) – Points Plus was introduced earlier this year.
TPG has stated the value of Points Boost many times in many ways, as it is a new and very valuable way to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points, especially in The Edit by Chase Travel℠.
Unfortunately, some of these redemptions have recently changed – although you still have some time to lock in your redemption.
As first reported by Frequent Miler (via Reddit ), Chase has updated some of its language to say that “Points Boost redemptions are now worth up to 2x the value when you book at a hotel owned by The Edit.” Our test searches have confirmed this reality. While the redemption value of some properties remains at 2 cents per point, the redemption value of others is now 1.65 cents per point.
Thankfully, Chase has temporarily extended its previous offer of 2 cents per point on all bookings made through December 22nd.
Here’s what you need to know.
Points Boost Overview
For those who haven’t taken advantage of this redemption option, Points Boost increases the value of your Chase Ultimate Rewards points by up to 2 cents on select flights and hotels booked on the Chase travel website.
One downside to the points boost is that it may not be available for the travel you want because it’s limited to certain hotels and selected airline itineraries. Also, “up to” 2 cents per point means it’s not always offered at the 2 cents per point level.
There’s one glorious exception to this change, however: The Edit, Chase’s collection of premium hotels, offers perks like breakfast for two and a $100 hotel credit when you book with Chase Travel. Think: high-end hotels like Four Seasons, 1 Hotels and the Ritz-Carlton, as well as more affordable brands like Thompson, JW Marriott and W.

Additionally, the June update includes new perks specifically for these locations. Cardholders who prepay for a minimum of two nights at The Edit hotel will receive up to $500 in bill points (up to $250 from January to June 2025 and $250 from July to December 2025) – a benefit that goes into effect on October 26 for long-term cardholders (like us).
Or even better? You can book The Edit hotels using a combination of cash and Chase points, which allows you to pair those statement points (triggered when you pay for at least part of your stay with cash) with a points bonus to redeem points for the remainder of your stay at 2 cents each. In short, this is a fantastic new way to stack points and perks.
While you can still use this stacking strategy, the days of consistent exchange value for these properties appear to be over.
What the data shows
We pulled data from 150 hotels around the world, including big cities like London, Singapore and Sydney, as well as popular vacation destinations like Hawaii, Bora Bora and the Caribbean. 59% of the hotels and resorts we analyzed now display Points Boost redemption values of just 1.65 cents per point, while 41% maintain the previous value of 2 cents.

In Hawaii, for example, we found 19 hotels in The Edit for three nights in March 2025. Only eight of those hotels maintained a per-point value of 2 cents, including the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and The Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay. However, the other 11 points are priced at 1.65 cents per point. This means your points are worth 17.5% less at many Hawaii hotels, including Andaz Maui.
That’s still a great redemption — and still higher than the flat value you’d get before the card refreshed. However, this is a significant drop from a steady 2 cents per point.
That said, all properties in The Edit have a short grace period to continue using higher redemption levels. We received the following statement from a Chase spokesperson:
“Some of our Chase Travel content promoting The Edit’s 2x points boost promotion has been in the market longer than expected. We will proactively honor the 2x points value for any customer who booked a stay with The Edit before December 22, 2025. Customers will see the points adjustment in their Ultimate Rewards balance. Please note that the terms outlining the points boost program can be viewed here.”
That means you still have a few days to book a stay at an eligible hotel and still lock in a redemption value of 2 cents per point. However, after December 22, your redemption value may be reduced.

While we’re happy to have some notification now and have a few days to pre-order at the higher tiers, unfortunately this will likely follow the trend we’ve seen before after the grace period ends. Consistency and transparency—by publishing reward charts or fixed reward levels—create predictability for travelers. Once variable pricing takes effect, it often makes it more difficult for customers to “save up” for big trips and maximize the value of points and miles.
Of course, there are other ways to maximize points for redemption. Many airlines offer points for up to 2 cents per point, and you can easily turn on filters through Chase Travel to see only flights and hotels that are eligible for point bonuses, but from there, you have to do some math to see how many points you’re earning.
Still, our advice remains the same: burn money when you make it.
Credit card issuers and travel loyalty programs will continue to tweak their offerings, and what you see today may be gone (or devalued) tomorrow. If you find an exchange that is valuable to you, grab it.
We certainly applaud Chase for continuing to honor the 2 cents per point redemption value through December 22, and many hotels will continue to offer this value. That said, now is the perfect time to lock in a points-boosted stay at one of these locations – get the most value from your rewards and enjoy a fantastic experience at a luxury resort.
