Two people submitted my resume!

By Jeff Altman, Big Game Hunter
Too bad! Too bad! I have submitted my resume twice! ! But is it really that terrible?
Please take the following precautions when you useAI
Big Hunter Jeff Altman and I coach people and organizations to help you become more effective in a variety of different ways. Someone came up with a classic scenario. My resume comes from two different sources.
OMG! And, you know, in the past, that was a real problem. My point is that I was on the side of one of the agents who yelled at one company saying they saw someone I had submitted to them before at another company and that I was scammed. oh! The company came up with a solution.
If two recruiters were arguing about a candidate and who got it first, we wouldn’t be meeting that person. From this, the courts came up with a different philosophy, but companies decided not to bother, so what persists today is the fear of being filed by multiple sources. For you as a job seeker, let me clarify something.
This is no longer a problem. In the days before computers there was a problem because the only method they had to follow was date stamping and then someone would write down the time. Do you believe this? Today, every resume is automatically date and time stamped because it was emailed or sent through an applicant tracking system, and through some mechanism they can determine what the source was.
Secondly, all their contracts, that’s whether the recruiting firm contracts with the company directly or through the applicant or through a vendor management system. All of this allows the company to retain the right to choose who it chooses. So, this is where the arbitrariness comes in, where the company says, hey, look, our contract says we can choose another company that we want to choose.
Now, for you, the recruiter is trying to scare you. It’s not a big deal to not have your resume submitted to two sources. Was.
Every once in a while you come across a company and they complain that something is wrong with the person. Don’t they have control over their resume and where it goes? Of course not. Recruiters do.
Not sure about your employment dates?
Now, here’s another complication. The recruiter said they would submit your resume, but they didn’t and will never get back to you. You see the job ad and you wonder if you should submit it. The answer is, yes, they won’t get back to you, they don’t care, and from your perspective, they don’t really work for you. So, anyway, don’t worry about these two resumes coming from different sources. Now, if they’re a day apart from each other, that’s different, but most of the time, there’s some space involved and you just nod and say, that’s okay.
submit. No problem, let’s see what happens, if you don’t hear back from the recruiter, by all means, go ahead and submit. I’m Jeff Altman.
