Winter-only dining experiences in hotels around the world

Everyone knows winter is prime time for cozy vibes, and booking a special hotel dinner can be the coziest festive way to experience the colder season. It doesn’t matter if it’s actually snowing outside; The colder months have shorter days and are the ideal time to enjoy delicious hot drinks, delicious hot drinks, delicious food and festive sparkling wine.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a hotel that isn’t decorated with lots of twinkling lights, garlands and winter evergreens. However, some hotels are going beyond the magic of winter, constructing pop-up igloos, constructing cabins, and providing guests with other creative and immersive amenities that really set the winter tone.

At this luxurious mountainside hotel, the Veuve Clicquot Cabana Chalets will give you an après-ski experience, especially in terms of luxury. These special winter treats are available for up to eight guests, who can relax on fur-lined chairs and benches, warm up by a private fire pit, and sip Veuve Clicquot and gingerbread hot chocolate. Add-ons include caviar, charcuterie and fondue, while weekend DJ sets only add to the casual atmosphere.

This winter, room rates at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe start at $619, or 91,200 Marriott Bonvoy points. Veuve Clicquot Cabana Chalets start at $300.

Singer Oceanfront Resort – Curio Collection by Hilton – Riviera Beach, Florida

Singer Beach Resort proves that you can still feel the spirit of winter even when it’s not freezing outside. Their “Beach Igloo Experience” consists of see-through igloos located on the sand, with the ocean as the ideal backdrop for a cozy scene. Visitors can expect warm blankets, holiday decorations, fire pits and more. The igloos are a collaboration with Caymus Vineyards in Napa, California, which handles wine pairings for a special shared menu curated by on-site restaurant Caretta Caretta’s executive chef Winston Guerrero.

Park Hyatt Niseko Garden – Hokkaido, Japan

With the famous Ja-pow (Japanese powder) of Mount Yotei as the backdrop, Park Hyatt has partnered with Krug Champagne to create an unforgettable winter wonderland dining experience in the Japanese ski resort of Hokkaido. The “Krug Igloo Prive” includes a beautiful igloo and of course heating. But before getting cozy, guests can enjoy snacks and sparkling wine under the night sky. Once inside, they’ll be treated to a chandelier-lit multi-course prix fixe meal of French, Chinese or Japanese dishes featuring famous local ingredients like Hokkaido abalone and Kobe beef, paired (of course) with rare Krug wines.

All the best alpine style and European winter classics are served at Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s snow-season restaurant, The Chalet, located just outside the hotel and accessible by shuttle (or magical walk under fresh snow). French onion soup is not to be missed, as is fondue and charcuterie; in addition, a pot of fragrant chocolate fondue is also a must-try dessert. You can enjoy it all while a roaring fire heats the space through high ceilings and large windows, allowing you to glimpse the snowy landscape and twinkling stars in the distance.

If you love London but miss the vibe of a ski resort, you’ll find the best of both worlds at The Berkeley Hotel’s Off-piste Feast pop-up, which takes place on a custom-made ski lift on the hotel’s rooftop, overlooking Hyde Park. The charming fixed gondola is the setting for an intimate dinner, starting with mulled wine and progressing to traditional Swiss raclette cheese, fresh truffle tart, milk chocolate fondue dipped in edible candles and gingerbread s’mores. Each cable car has its own “champagne bell,” and guests can order a festive glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne directly at their table.
