To maximize your Ultimate Rewards points, here are some great ways to transfer and redeem Aeroplan points:
- Aeroplan is one of the most affordable options to book Lufthansa’s famous first-class product to Europe for just 90,000 points one-way from the East Coast to Europe, or 100,000 points one-way from the West Coast to Europe, plus a minimum tax of about $50 to $70. Seats are limited, however, as Lufthansa does not open first class award seats to partner programs until at least 14 days before departure.
- Taking Singapore Airlines’ fifth freedom route from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany, flying in business class only costs 60,000 Aeroplan points, plus about $57 in taxes and fees.
- A little-known but valuable Aeroplan perk is that for just 5,000 extra points, you can add a stopover on the way to your destination. For round-trip redemptions, you can add one stopover on your outbound flight and another stopover on your return flight for 5,000 Aeroplan Points each time.
- If you need to book a last-minute domestic flight on United during a popular holiday period, it may be cheaper to redeem Aeroplan points than United MileagePlus miles.

bottom line
Transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Air Canada Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio is simple and often instant, helping you maximize your rewards, especially when booking premium class flights to Europe.
Before transferring points, it’s a good idea to check the availability of rewards. Also, we recommend comparing the cash price to booking through a transfer partner, as it may be more profitable to save points to redeem again rather than transfer.
