If you’re an information worker, if you’re the typical LinkedIn college-educated office professional (you know, what they used to call a white-collar worker), it’s important to get a job. But I also want you to view this as a subsidy period for looking for a career transition, finding an exit ramp for the job you’re doing.
Why? Because artificial intelligence is taking over your job. They will replace you at some point. It’s getting smarter and smarter, and all you’re doing is training it to replace you. So yes, get a job; don’t waste a lot of time. But focus on landing somewhere so that you can start paying attention to crafting your exit ramp and stop doing things that the AI can do better than you.
