LinkedIn’s systems have changed what they want to see in your profile to recommend you.
Keyword stuffing your LinkedIn profile is no longer as effective as it once was because they change how they refer people and what causes them to recommend you. Let me explain what you need to do. I’m Jeff Altman, big game hunter.
People hire me to provide no-nonsense job coaching and career advice around the world because I make it easier to find and succeed in work. I wrote a book called Algorithmic Pivot, available on Amazon, which goes into detail about what’s necessary, but the short version I’m going to give you today is, does your profile read like the answer to a sentence someone typed into the LinkedIn search box to find people like you. So they stopped signing the terms.
They might search along these lines: looking for someone to modernize legacy infrastructure and cut cloud costs without destroying reliability, or looking for someone to build a security program that reduces risk and passes audits. Different, right? They won’t move to secure, legacy infrastructure. You know, that’s not how they do it.
This is the actual sentence, and LinkedIn is able to identify from your profile and several other places what you do and whether you meet that requirement.
