Bilt Obsidian Card Review: Earn Points in Popular Categories

this birt obsidian card (see Rates and Fees) is a mid-range card launched by Bilt Rewards Card 2.0.
With a $95 annual fee, cardholders can earn Bilt points at higher rates in popular rewards categories and earn 4% Bilt cash on all non-home purchases. This is in addition to incentives earned through rent or mortgage payments.
New Bilt Obsidian cardholders will receive $200 in Bilt Cash upon application and approval.
We love TPG’s Bilt points. Our January 2026 valuation is 2.2 cents per point and is transferable to reliable transfer partners including Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards and World of Hyatt.
The Bilt Obsidian Card is a good choice for Bilt enthusiasts who are happy with a pair of bonus categories and some travel benefits. However, a lackluster welcome bonus and meager benefits may leave some cardholders wanting more. Card Rating*: ⭐⭐⭐

Key Benefits of Bilt Obsidian
since birt obsidian card There’s a $95 annual fee, but you shouldn’t expect a long list of benefits. However, there are some factors worth considering:
A note about Bilt Cash
Bilt Cash earned with the Bilt Obsidian Card can be redeemed within the Bilt Rewards platform in a variety of ways, including:
- fitness classes
- Home delivery orders
- Hotel reservation
- Lyft rides
- Unlock points on your mortgage and rent payments; redeem $30 in Bilt Cash to earn 1,000 Bilt points on your mortgage or rent payment, up to the full price of your home payment

Redeeming Bilt Cash is one of only two ways to ensure you earn points on your housing payments, so if you choose this option, you’ll need to use your Bilt Card regularly to unlock its full point-earning features.
For example, if you pay $2,000 in rent, you would need to redeem $60 in Bilt Cash to earn the full 2,000 Bilt points to pay for your rent. However, if you redeem just $30 in Bilt cash, you’ll receive 1,000 Bilt points. You don’t pay transaction fees.
Bilt Cash matures at the end of each calendar year. Only $100 of Bilt Cash can be carried over to the next year.
If you choose to earn points through the tiered rewards option, you’ll need to spend 75% of your housing payment to earn 1 point per dollar.
Using the same $2,000 rent as an example, you would need to spend $1,500 on daily purchases in the same month to earn the full 2,000 points on your rent. This money-making option also doesn’t charge transaction fees.

How Bilt Points Work
How to Earn Birt Points
this birt obsidian card income:
- 4% Bilt Cash on all non-housing expenses †
- Earn 3 points per $1 spent on dining or groceries of your choice (up to $25,000 per year)
- Earn 2 points per $1 spent on travel
- Earn 1 point per $1 spent on all non-housing purchases‡
- Earn up to 1.25 points for every $1 spent on mortgage and rent payments

‡Points cannot be earned for paying taxes and purchasing through online resale marketplaces such as eBay or Facebook Marketplace.
How to Redeem Bilt Points
The best way to make the most of your points is to transfer them to one of Bilt’s 23 airline and hotel partners. There are several high-value programs on this list, including Air Canada Aeroplan, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards and United Airlines MileagePlus.

I like to transfer points to Atmos Rewards to book short-haul domestic flights on American Airlines. I often find award tickets on American Airlines from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) or Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) to get 4,500 to 6,000 points to visit friends.
I also like transferring points to World of Hyatt, which is one of the most award-winning programs. With Hyatt’s lucrative award chart, you can book award nights at luxury hotels at a solid price.
You can also redeem your points for:
- Buy direct from Amazon
- Birt Collection Purchase
- Bilt Travel Booking
- fitness classes
- Next month’s rent or mortgage payment
However, the value generated by these exchanges does not match our valuation of 2.2 cents per Bilt point, so we do not recommend these routes.
Disadvantages to Consider
It can be complicated for some cardholders to keep track of how much they need to spend on their Bilt Obsidian Card to earn enough Bilt Cash to unlock full points for their home payments (if they choose to earn that way).

Another factor to consider is that bonus points on grocery purchases are capped at $25,000 per year.
Finally, if you want more benefits and protection from your credit card, the Bilt Obsidian Card may not offer enough.
Obsidian compared to other Bilt cards
If you’re looking for a premium Bilt card with more benefits (such as Priority Pass airport lounge access) and higher earnings rates on all non-home purchases, Birt Palladium Card (See Rates and Fees) Qualified.
entry level birt blue card If you don’t want to pay an annual fee and don’t want to maximize your rewards categories, Bilt Obsidian (see Rates and Fees) is best because you earn 1 point per dollar spent on all non-home purchases.

bottom line
this birt obsidian card This is a great option for Bilt Rewards enthusiasts who want to keep the annual fee low and maximize reward categories while earning points on mortgage or rent payments.
If you don’t plan on using your Birt Obsidian card frequently for non-home purchases, you should skip it. You need to spend enough money on the card to unlock full point earning on your rent or mortgage payments.
And if you want lounge access or more benefits (like annual Bilt cash), you’re better off going premium Birt Palladium Card Or other top travel cards.
Cardholders who are prepared to focus on Bilt Rewards, avoid high annual fees, and frequently spend within the Bilt Obsidian Card’s rewards categories are the best candidates to apply. Given the high value and flexibility of Bilt Points, you won’t want to miss them.
